Tom brady did not turn average players to good. There is zero proof of that. We can say eddelman wouldn't be good but we have no evidence of that.

Tom brady had great receivers: Gronk, Randy Moss, Eddelman, Wes Welker, Troy brown.

Peyton manning had: Marvin Harrison, Reggie Wayne, Demaryius Thomas.

How is Mahomes average receivers doing? Kaderiius toney went from NYG to Mahomes. Did he go from average to good? Nope

At the end of the day you either have nfl talent or you don’t. Burrow makes Chase and Higgins somewhat better because he can make more throws than other QBs. But these wide receivers gotta run the route. Let’s give credit to the receivers. QB’s need good and great receivers. Not a bunch of bottom of the roster scrubs and he’ll make an nfl offense out of them.

A guy who’s bounced around from tam to team. Been fairly good. I think that’s a fair comp. Rather have tee or sweat? Keep in mind Burrow wants not only Tee, but Gesiscki too.

I agree about the highlighted part, but what good does that do if he's injured and is he really worth that many million more than a quality receiver we could find in FA?

Put Iosivas in the slot and Burton on the outside opposite of Chase and you have two deep threats on the outside, with one being Chase, and then Iosivas causing all kinds of drama underneath.[url=https://www.espn.com/nfl/player/_/id/4368003/andrei-iosivas][/url]

We can always find quality receivers that will see the field more than Higgins for not nearly the cost.

It’s not apples to apples… The chiefs OL was a mess and so was their WR room (albeit a lot due to injuries).  The second best FA is their RG Trey Smith.  He was also their best OL.  Should they let him walk, so they can invest money on multiple, maybe above average, OL and WR?  You keep your best players and build around them.  I doubt he hits FA.

You keep tee until you have too many areas to address financially with handfuls, emphasis on the S, of above average to great players.  This is where the chiefs are at.

The bengals tagging Tee twice, shows they are committed to spending on the roster, one way or another.  That IS different than years past, when they let these guys walk.  

If they hit on any one of the receivers over the last 3 years, we are not in this situation.  Again, draft and develop problem.  

Anyone saying we are good at finding WR in the draft, it’s complicated.   While we have a higher hit rate than average in the nfl.  The reality is we have hit two times over the last 7 receivers drafted, one of which was a top 10 bust.  So we have drafted two of the top 24 receivers since 2017, and 5 that are back end roster guys or out of the league.  Optically it looks like we are great because we have been fortunate with two game changers.  But it’s extremely top heavy.

I'm on board with IDL or a guard for the o line, but, again, I don't think we need to trade for a receiver because one is sure to become available that will cost a lot less.
