My bad. I did not mean to pile on.

As for the D, it is pretty straightforward with Trey, Stewart, BJ, and Dax all out. Though I guess Knight or Burks could have partnered Wilson.

BJ will certainly start when healthy. Trey when he gets the contract sorted. But DE2 opposie Trey, and how CB shakes out once Dax is back I think are the only real lineup questions.

Though, as mentioned by others, how we play is also gonna change. Sounds like more man, more stunts, more blitzing.

It is a good thing players like Kris Jenkins, Murphy and Knight are getting snaps with the first team. Some valuable experience for the youth.

Hope Kris Jenkins and Myles Murphy both make huge strides this year.

I hate any injury. If we are going to have one, now is the time as there still FA's out there who could start on our OL.

I just listened to the JB presser. He mentioned quickly he did not throw the ball as well as he liked at times last year. He said he feels great. It may be the first time he comes into camp actually healthy, we know this wrist was not 100% last year.

Think of just how good JB is to play throug a wrist injury with 2 lousy OG's in fron of him. I can see this offense taking off in 2025. Also, Burton keeps coming up and when the QB brings him up, that is a very good sign. JB also mentioned first time entire offenses is available. He said good news is last year we had 2 guys sitting out on offense, this year none.

He said he it is a distraction for Trey not here, but Trey is a vet and he will be fine if they can work things out.

I'd LOVE to see some more games from the DL. It's not something the Bengals do regularly...or i should say, very much at all.

Very true, if there is a silver lining it is that we can add Risner, Scherff or Hernandez now.

They aren’t making any moves until Trey’s situation is resolved.

Why? Do you honestly believe they have not calculated the maxium contract they will give Trey in 2025?

I would argue the have and if we lose Patrcick in camp to a season ending injury it may become a priorty.

We have at least 24 to 25 million after PS, rookies and any costs due to 53 man roster right now.

I see no way Bengals give Bengals more than 12 million in 2025. If so, they still have more than enough (23 to 13 million)  to sign Hernandez, Scherff or Risner.

They want a cushion. Always have

That is fine with me as long as Patrick's injury isn't terrible.

Quote:1. TJ Houshmandzadeh attended practice and made a beeline for WR Jermaine Burton.
“TJ knows my potential,” Burton said. “He told me that if I stay locked-in mentally and physically, everything is going to work out for me.”

I'd like to make a beeline for TJ and kick him in his ponytail for pimping Brton

Yeah I agree, we have to assume they have budgeted for a 2025 cap hit with a raise and the full rollover amount.  They should still have a few million for injuries.  You don't play hardball with Trey and yet still let his situation handcuff you from replacing an injured player.

If Patrick's injury is serious or nagging they have to make a move.  Prior to the draft, Risner narrowed down his list to Cincy and a few. I wonder if he floated that because he knew Cincy had to have a backup option if guard wasn't a bpa.  Ford is versatile but you don't like having to go green at tackle if another injury happens. Hernandez won't be ready and Schreff is a type that may wait for a bigger injury or has to hit a guaranteed number to justify continuing to play.  For this reason, I take Dalton up on his interest if it's I'm the 3-4M range before other teams get injuries and you're bidding.

My first memory of UK sports was as a kid in Mt. Sterling, KY, listening to Caewood Ledford calling UK football on the radio and rooting for my hero Sonny Collins. So I have 0 idea where you've gotten this UofL fan narrative.

I like Burrow's comments about Fairchild. Burrow better hype his dudes because the offense is going to have to prevail in shootouts based on the uncertainty with the defense.
