1st.... and foremost hire GM. .........would be happy if it were Marvin.

2nd.... Replace Marvin as HC

3rd....Fire PA.

4th .... Move Zampese back to QB coach and hire new OC

5th .... Build from the trenches out on both sides of the ball in draft and FA.

Yelp,

As long as Mike Brown is still the GM nothing else really matters.

The 5 steps are simple yet sounds like a broken record:

1. Fire Marvin Lewis
2. Make sure front office doesn't make another lazy hire and put some effort into a new head coach
3. Mike Brown cannot be a part of this process, he is a cooler at a casino
4. Again, do research and hire the best coaching staff available that will help the new coach succeed
5. Send Marvin Lewis and Mike Brown on a permanent Carnival cruise so neither can jeopardize the success of new HC and staff.

He can play End and LB, he can rush the passer and cover. Very versatile and a better pass rusher than Solomon Thomas who i also like.

Solomon is just a more physical player, i am for Barnett first but who knows if he is there. I think Taco would be a reach at 9.

Dead on here, Nate.  And if Soloman Thomas is gone (he will be) maybe we could slide a bit, garner an additional 2nd rounder (the vaules are much higher for picks in the top 10, so a 2nd rounder is fair trade) and still get a player like Reddick.  Personally, I would rather get John Ross to be the Chris Henry vertical we need to open up the underneath, and use the additional 2nd rounder on Elflein and our original 2nd on another LB like McMillon out of OSU.  I think he can be all that Reddick can be and has played against superior competition.

Apparently this thread started before they lost Whit, as many had that as a priority, but here is my post-Whit top 5, being as realistic as I can with the cap money remaining and the coaching/GM discussions are not going to change at this time of the year. So, here is my top 5, for this upcoming season:

1.) Break tradition and cut the dead weight: Release Maualuga, Jeremy Hill, and Adam Jones. This will not only save some money but, hopefully send a bit of a message to the rest of the team about performance, respect for law enforcement, and being fat and out of shape when you arrive to camp. Hill doesn't contribute in the passing game or special teams, either. Buh-bye.

2.) Sign Ryan Clady to a 2 year, incentive-laden contract. Ced can try to win his job back, but he will be relegated to the extra TE role in short yardage and backup RT.

3.) Sign Sexy to a 4-year contract. I want him on the field more than he has been. He has outstanding change-of-direction and vision as both a RB and WR. I want guys that can benefit this team in more than one way. He is also a demon on special teams.

4.) Focus on playmakers in the draft: A guy like Ross in the 1st, McMillan in the 2nd, and maybe another TE (Butt?) as insurance for Eifert. They will almost certainly draft a kicker, and I might overreach here a bit (our 5th rounder early in the 5th) to get Zane Gonzalez out of ASU. Best kicking prospect to come out of college in a long time.

5.) Announce the hiring of Sam Wyche as "Special Assistant to the OC" to help him self-scout the teams predictable nature and provide some creativity that has been so sorely lacking on that side of the ball. He has a new heart, but I am sure the blood in his veins still boils over not winning a Super Bowl. I also love the character of this man, and would love for him to be a part of the team again.
