Rushmore of Sports figures - 6andcounting - 07-24-2015 Dan Marino, Joe Montana, Joe Namath, Jim kelly, Johnny Unitas and George Blanda all played for the same conference in high school. The conference covers a 50 mile radius around Pittsburgh, so that's quite the epic "qb only" Mt Rushmore for one small high school athletic conference to boast. And that's just the HOF guys; there have been other qbs with Heismans, Pro Bowls and successful careers that have come from this conference. RE: Mt. Rushmore of Sports figures - Goalpost - 07-24-2015 I think my top three in Ohio would be Pete Rose, Jack Nicklaus, and Cy Young. All three lead their sports in what i consider to be 'lifetime' categories. The 4th one I'm not so sure. Probably LeBron, once he retires and his stats finalize. RE: Mt. There's some names I didn't know were from Ohio, like Branch Rickey, Rollie Fingers, and Alan Page. Bernie Kosar comes in at #50! Pound for pound one of the toughest athletes in any sport. The guy weighed about a buck sixty and his game consisted of taking the ball to the hoop and getting knocked down about 30 times a game.
