Boyd: Sucks, has been a healthy scratch this year, is now hurt. Vigil: Sucks Billings: Sucks Fej: Decent ST player, which is fine for a 7th rounder, but nothing to crow about. Mixon: Averaging 2.9 YPC, just had a 20 carry/49 yard, 2 catch/0 yard game. Willis: 3rd rounder DE who's on pace for a 1.5 sack season. *Lawson: Looks like a pretty nice hit as a pass rush specialist. Malone: Is on pace for a 6.4 catch/86.4 yard/1.6 TD season. Glasgow: Sucks Evans: Has done next to nothing all year. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - I feel like in '16 and '17, you just started listing everyone who's made the roster rather than people who are actually any good. You listed 13 picks, I see 3 GOOD ones out of that list... and that's out of 27 overall picks those three years and I guess you just gave up on even trying to salvage '14. Combine that with the list of everyone they've lost in that timespan (Whit, Nelson, M Jones, Zeitler) and the fact that they've completely ignored improving in FA (as usual) and it's ugly. But you are better than this assessment. Dude is in and around way more plays than I expected him to be regardless of the draft reach. Our scouting team of 3 maybe 4 is handcuffed by being stretched much too thin, but the vigil pick is one I believe is already paying off. Regardless. Screw Mikey. Screw Katie. Screw Marvey. Screw Randy. Hope 2 of the 4 find good work digging half ass ditches elsewhere in the future. The other 2 can rot in their own undead nepotistic grave for all I care. RE: Sooooooooooooooooooooo ... Randy Bullock - Shake n Blake - 11-21-2017 Bullock has missed 4 kicks and Elliott has missed 7. Their percentages are nearly identical. People keep bringing up range, but we rarely attempt 55+ yard FGs, preferring to punt for position. I've never seen so much hand wringing over a truly mediocre kicker. I like to believe we have some very intelligent football fans around here, but stuff like this makes me scratch my head. If yall really are so distraught about losing a future kicking legend, I'm pretty sure the Eagles are going to cut him when their guy gets healthy. I don't care either way. They're both young mediocre kickers. Elliott has more range, but seems prone to missing "gimmies"...If that floats your boat, he's your man. RE: Sooooooooooooooooooooo ... I see many more. I don't agree with your assessments. As you know, it takes 3 years to get a good handle on evaluating a draft. Most of these players are in their 1st or 2nd year, and to me, show promise of being good now and getting better. I chose these 3 drafts because the poster I replied to specifically said "in the past couple years". We could go back and forth about defending why you think they suck, but I don't....but that would be a fruitless circular exercise where we would have to end up agreeing to disagree. Instead we will have to wait another few years to see. I say the Bengals have gotten some very good talent, and on top of that are playing those guys ad getting them good early experience. My guess would be that you are way less patient than me, and are evaluating normal rookie growing pains as "sucks". We shall see together. RE: Sooooooooooooooooooooo ... Randy Bullock - reuben.ahmed - 11-21-2017 Never liked bullock regardless of stats (which in this situation some might think all that mattered!). He will continue to perform poorly in inclement weather. An unpredictable natural hook shot is tougher with wind and uncertain footing. There's also something about chubby people (takes one to know one), that they might be lazy and not want to perfect their craft. RE: Sooooooooooooooooooooo ... This thread has ZERO merit. I was wanting Elliott to win the competition, as I thought his ball flight was higher and he had more upside. That said, Bullock clearly won the kicking contest. So this thread has zero merit. You (You, being in general, not specific to anyone) either want competition for spots and for the guy who wins the competition to play, or you don't. And if you don't, then you cannot whine about Marvin playing the vets instead of the rookies and all that crap. You can't have it both ways.....well, you can, but you're just laying your hypocrisy open for he world to see. And you can't wait until you see how something turns out, and then act like you wanted to do it the other way, because you just sound like the "know it all" in the bar who is always the loudest and reveals he actually knows the least about the game. If there is handwringing to be done it should probably be for Simmons. I agree completely with the straight up kicking competition in camp/preseason...can't say fairer then that approach but its looking like going with those 2 as the kickers for that competition was flawed from the outset. PS ; I do think Bullock is being hampered right now by the injury ...even the kicks he does make are consistently hooking left RE: Sooooooooooooooooooooo ... They did what everyone here always says they want them to do, they had a competition and the job went to the guys who performed the best, even though one was drafted. Then, they tried to stick Elliott on the practice squad, but he was claimed. There is no way, if you are being fair, that anyone can criticize this. There are more than enough legitimate gripes about this coaching staff to complain about, without this kind of crap. RE: Sooooooooooooooooooooo ... Randy Bullock - Beaker - 11-22-2017 A bad back really does mess with a kicker. I think Bulock is decent....and probably a better choice than Elliott. But he does seem to be pushing everything a bit left since coming back from his injury. I hope he feels better quickly. PS. I loved what the Eagles did when their K got hurt....just went for 2 after every score. |
