Sounds more like helping a little thing RE: Dayton Tornado - Fan_in_Kettering - 05-28-2019 We’re safe here in Kettering but near where I work metal road signs were twisted like plastic straws. RE: Dayton Tornado - SHRacerX - 05-29-2019 Hara Arena got its roof ripped off. We kind of needed some help getting that thing torn down, I guess. RE: Dayton Tornado - Tiger Teeth - 05-29-2019 Hope all of you are okay in the areas hit. Scary stuff. RE: Dayton Tornado - HarleyDog - 05-29-2019 We live about 12 miles NW of Greenville. Although we were lucky the tornadoes were north and south of us, it was a very violent storm. My yard could not take it and my mancave took in quite a bit of water. Good thing I laid indoor/outdoor carpet out there so the cleanup is easier. Other than being alive, the best thing I saw was Jamie Simpson losing his cool on TV. Gotta say I enjoyed that. https://www.thewrap.com/ohio-weatherman-snaps-at-viewers-as-tornado-warning-interrupts-the-bachelorette-video/ RE: Dayton Tornado - Tiger Teeth - 05-29-2019 That's crazy that people were complaining. You'd think they would rather be safe. RE: Dayton Tornado - HarleyDog - 05-29-2019 (05-29-2019, 09:04 AM)Tiger Teeth Wrote: That's crazy that people were complaining. My wife said the same thing while we were watching, so I turned to her and said, “have you ever heard of the Heidi game?” https://youtu.be/wrErCP4V4Ls RE: Dayton Tornado - packerbacker - 05-29-2019 I have friends that live in Lebanon. They are safe. I hope all of you guys stayed safe. RE: Dayton Tornado - Nate (formerly eliminate08) - 05-29-2019 Praying all you guys are alright. So happy we don't have those around my area, gets broke up by the mountains. Or come at night. The planet is changing things up. Also... Those of us up this way... If you've got a chainsaw and a truck, people really need help. They still need water in Brookville. Every area hit needs food. A lot of people in those neighborhoods didn't have much to begin with. Now they don't have shit. I've been doing board ups, and tarping roofs all week at work. It's unbelievable. The people are so appreciative of even the slightest bit of help. So if you have some spare time or resources, please chip in a little. Tornadoes absolutely can and do hit in mountainous terrain. RE: Dayton Tornado - grampahol - 06-03-2019 I talked to my son the next day. it turns out he was on his way to Englewood driving through the whole mess. He's OK, but trying to cash in on misery doing construction work and housing rehab type work.. He's free lancing for some woman who owns a boatload of rentals in the area for now.. I misstated.. He will probably cash in..He's not the type to take advantage of people.. RE: Dayton Tornado - cinci4life - 06-06-2019 I live on the east side of Dayton and it stayed a couple miles north of me. Never been so scared. Pretty sure I saw it during lightning flashes as it passed by and heard the roar. Scary night for sure. Not being complacent, have had tornado warnings for years but everytime they lift up over the mountains and it just turns to wind. The only way a tornado could go through our valley is if it started from the south and ran perfectly down the middle, highly unlikely. Also, my house is underground. The thing i worry about here is earthquakes. |
