They want to see what they have healthy? See last year.

Zac is going off his personal experience.  They traded up twice in the draft this year.  They traded down to acquire Glenn last year before he took the job.  Historically speaking, they'll trade if they feel that they're getting the better of the deal.

If they don't resign AJ and had a significant offer, then that's a failure on their part.  Anybody that will be under contract next year you entertain offers, but you have to get a reasonable return to replace the player.  Let's face it, if the player isn't any good and is easily replaced by some late round scrub, other teams aren't calling about them. Plus you can trade those guys before the draft.  If someone calls with a ridiculous offer, sure you take it.  However you don't dump your best players for some day three draft picks, either.

Tate is the new AJ. Tate is definitely better than Akili Ross and by the catches he's made so far, exceedingly durable.

Trade AJ, replace with Tate, use the pick to get another LB or WR to upgrade from Akili Ross who will be released until his rookie contract fizzles.

Three things:
1) Tate isn't half as talented as AJ is. He's been solid, but he's no AJ.

2) Ross isn't an Akili. Ross hasn't gotten a DUI that I'm aware of, and Ross is always hurt. The only thing Akili hurt was the team's chances of winning when he was under center.

3) The trade deadline has come and gone. Unless you are talking about tagging and then trading AJ in the off-season, that ship has already sailed.
