A negative outlook is depressing, but so is this entire coaching staff. In a way, buying into that thought process is congruent with our current culture; lose everything to bide time for a real martinet. I'm praying (in vain) that Zimmer may be that taskmaster.

The Bengals made the playoffs six times between 2009 and 2015 and I give most of the credit to Mike Zimmer. In the AFC North a stout defense is necessary to win consistently. Those Zimmer defenses featured an amazing pass rush, an ability to stuff the run, and a propensity to generate turnovers.

Zimmer left the Bengals in 2013.

But no denying that we struggled on defense until he arrived in '08.

But the Giants were bad then (1977) and the Bengals were kinda good. Tomorrow, it should be 20 degrees warmer and sunny and the Giants should handily beat this deflated balloon joke of a franchise.

I have that game downloaded on my PC upstairs.  ThumbsUp

And...you can find it here, for as long as it's up. lol

Zimmer coached through 2013 and left in 2014 but you know

Even when I post something positive a lot of guys start a contest to see who can squeal and cry the loudest about how bad it is.

So..... Who won?

To be honest, even though I have been a Bengal fan for almost 50 years I can only remember one game against the Giants.  2012 when we started the season 3-5 a lot of people were saying that the 9 win season of 2011 was just a fluke.  But we blew out the 6-3 Giants 31-13 and went on a tear to finish 7-1 and make the playoffs for the second straight year. Dalton's 4 tds passes were the most ever by a Bengal QB against the Giants.

Other individual records against the Giants.

Passing yards................. 286, Palmer 9-21-08
Passer rating (15 att)...... 127.6, Dalton 11-11-12 (see above)

Rush yds....................... 83, Archie Griffin,11-17-77 (Bengals led 27-6 at half and only completed 5 passes the entire game,  Anderson still had 154 passing yards and 3 tds)

Receptions.................... 12, Houshmanzadeh 9-21-08
Receiving yards............. 146, Houshmanzsdeh 9-21-08
Receiving td.................. 2, Billy Brooks, 11-27-77, Carl Pickens 12-11-94 (Bengals entire offense only scored 26 tds that year,  Pickens had 11), Chad Johnson 12-26-04 (Including game-winner with just 0:44 left)

Interesting fact. The Bengals have never beaten the Jets or Giants at the old Giants Stadium[Meadowlands]. The Bengals were 0-8  against the Jets there[from 1984 to 2010]. I was there the last game in 2010 on a cold Thanksgiving night rout.  Sad

We do have a 1 game winning streak at their new facility.  Tongue

I just read your bio page.  This is a surprising reply after seeing what you claim about yourself there, and are attempting to convey through your avatar?  Do you find any good in being supportive of this team?  It just appears you would be kinder?

And other than repeated violations of the CoC, I never see much more than negativity out of you.  Merry Christmas.

Sorry but do what is necessary to me admin team.  Had to be said.

Thanks very much for putting this up. It played okay on my computer. It was like watching a time capsule, this 43 year old game. Lindsey Nelson was a great announcer. I'm a Mets fan too, and he was their announcer from the beginning and got to be in the broadcast booth for the 69 series. This game would be a lot funner to watch than the one they're gonna play today. I was being driven back to college in southern Illinois that day, and by a strange quirk of fate it's the same place I'm sitting right now!

Well now I see why they only completed 5 passes that game.

Side note: Just less than one year after this game, Pisarcik would be involved in The Miracle at the Meadowlands, which, as another side note, ushered in the Bill Parcells era.

Guenther carried Zim's torch well for 2 and a 3/4th years, once he left, all of Zim's magic left with him (blitz packages and coverage schemes). We've witnessed the downward spiral since.

Thanks for posting this. I watch a few drives.

It's got several Bengals all time greats in it. Ken Anderson (obviously), but Coy Bacon, Reggie Williams, Lamar Parrish, Pete Johnson, Eddie Edwards (was a rookie that year), Ken Riley.

Bengals first drive was a classic Ken Anderson pass.
