RE: Anyone bet on NFL games? - fredtoast - 10-16-2015 The only way to make money gambling is to turn it into work. You have to do tons of research and then bet a lot of games. Since whatever edge you get from all that research is small you have to bet a lot of times to make sure you come out ahead. Even if you come up with a solid "system" you could still lose 2 of 3 or 3 of 5 just because the outcomes of sporting events are so random. Here is what I suggest. Check the lines when they come out on Monday. then check them again on Friday. Look at the lines that have moved the most and then bet that direction. The big money bettors are more likely to win, and the big money moves the line. The only think you have to look out for is if an injury announcement or something like that moves the line.
