Both had to show they deserved playing time in the preseason.
Price looked like a decent pick at the time. Ross was a bad pick exacerbated by the division between mike and Marvin. That's not really the same issue as Chase, a receiver we didn't need but justified because he was supposed to be the love child of Megatron and Marvin Harrison.
And that dude looks like a special teamer atm.
Will he turn around? Maybe. Doesn't really matter. We've got a decent receiving corps with or without him. But it's a valid point we're cutting guys who could provide depth somewhere to keep a guy who hasn't shown anything yet.

Ross was never on Chase's level to start with. He had speed, but that was his only trick.

Was in the camp for wanting O-line help in 1st round.
But Chase is light years better than Ross imo.
Has he sucked in preseason ? Of course, duh big red truck.
Yet certain he will earn his worth eventually where I never believed Ross even had a chance to do so. Two very different skill sets and Chase's is the better of the two.
Never was I so mad about a pick than the Ross selection that made me immediately walk out of the PBS draft party.
Relatively happy about preseason except for Ossai and Chase's yips though. But the quips will stop once the yips are history and he finds the end zone a few times

John Ross did not win the Biletnikoff Award, so the are not EXACTLY the same.
