I just assumed it was a joke in reference to how people like to say some guys' first and second years don't count for X or Y reason and that a 3rd year guy can even still "basically be a rookie"

If ever a kicker won MVP It would have been him last season, and I wouldn’t have had a problem with it at all. The kid has won so many games for us already and carried this team (along with the D) through the playoffs. It’s amazing the difference between him and your run of the mill kickers. He is just as valuable to this team as the QB. He’s a beast.
