RE: Bold Draft Preditions - tms - 04-23-2024 I don't know if I'd call it a "Bold" prediction, but I think Sweat will go a lot higher than expected. I don't think he's dropped that far. I mean, the DUI is a real red flag but at the same time he was never a true first-round prospect. He was always tier two, if not three. Teams have more tolerance for risk at that point. I don't think we'll take him at 49- whereas he might have once been a consideration- but it only takes one team. One Jerry Jones. One Al Davis. It's not beyond the realm that someone scoops him up in the 50s or 60s imo. You know what, I'm going all in. Why not. This is all for fun. If he's still sitting there at 80 I bet we take him ourselves. RE: Bold Draft Preditions - Stewy - 04-23-2024 (04-23-2024, 12:41 PM)Whatever Wrote: That's a real tough one. Gaping hole is your very biased opinion. The teams complete lack of interest in WR FA, is very telling about what they feel about their WR room. It tells me they are fine with it, regardless of fan hysteria. Thus my prediction of no WR until day 3. How does he grow? How does he answer the obvious questions he's getting? If he answers smart, he'll be ok. If he answers dumb, he'll fall. We'll never know. RE: Bold Draft Preditions - Bengalstripes9 - 04-23-2024 Bengals trade down in the 2nd round RE: Bold Draft Preditions - Whatever - 04-23-2024 (04-23-2024, 07:29 PM)Stewy Wrote: Gaping hole is your very biased opinion. Just because you don't like my opinion, doesn't mean it's biased They've certainly spent a lot of time looking at guys like Thomas, McConkey, Mitchell, Worthy McCorley, and Rice for a team that's happy with their WR room. They've had more documented meetings with guys with 1st-3rd grades than Day 3 grades by a wide margin. They may simply be looking at taking advantage of a top heavy WR class instead of shelling out big bucks in FA. We'll see in a few days. The big thing that kills Sweat is he apparently had a reputation for partying too hard. When teams asked him about it, he told them those days were long behind him. Then he gets in a wreck at 4 am while DUI. Now it's not just an issue of his drinking and partying. Now, it's an issue where you can't believe him, because he'll lie straight to your face. RE: Bold Draft Preditions - bfine32 - 04-24-2024 Fall: Jerry Newton Rise: Luke McCafferty WTH: Michael Pennix is the 3rd QB taken RE: Bold Draft Preditions - tms - 04-25-2024 What player will fall out of the 1st round that everyone says will be picked in the 1st? Jackson Powers-Johnson. I see him as a second-round talent who rode a bit of a wave but will settle in where he belongs. I think teams will have too many questions to justify using a first-round pick on him. What player will be picked in the 1st round that was projected to go lower? The ol' Cole Strange pick! Love it. I'll go with Maason Smith. He's just a very large man with immense upside. "... And we wasted our time watchin' him thinking he'd make it to 104 maybe! Hahahahahaha!" /McVay voice What team will make a "what the hell" pick that nobody sees coming? Chicago or Arizona. They got more chances to do it. I'm playing the percentages. :) RE: Bold Draft Preditions - Memphis_Bengal - 04-25-2024 Caleb Williams will be a bust and Michael Penix will be the best QB from this class. I agree with your thought Memphis. Caleb Williams keeps getting compared to Mahomes and I just don't see it. Penix has accuracy and is a smart pocket passer which is needed in the NFL. Think Penix will do well in the NFL.
