The rest have been paycheck collectors. (10-10-2024, 07:08 PM)GodFather Wrote: You are correct with this statement, apparently Sam Hubbard was stiff armed at the door and wasnt allowed in... It's not to complain and place blame, it's to face up to not getting the job done, call upon every man in the room to find their alpha pride and come together as a unit. The change begins with an individual commitment to do better from every member of the unit. This. Also, I remember the last time the Defense was sucking and had a player only team meeting we saw a change for the positive. People acting like this is nothing is just stupid to me honestly. This needed to happen, hope it wasn't too late. Maybe something comes out of this. They at least acknowledging there is an issue. RE: Bengals defense holds player only meeting - BengalsBong - 10-11-2024 The DB need to quit looking in the backfield so much and stick to their guy like glue this was Cams issue he tries to use jumping ability to make up for a gap between him and WR. Stick to the WR then use jumping ability to ensure the ball hits you or goes over WR head and reach. When the WR is eyeballing the ball and about to catch it that's when you leap. Ultimately, all schemes are designed to work. Execution of the schemes falls upon the players. The players are the ones responsible for not getting off their blocks, missed tackles, miscommunications, blown coverages, etc. Sometimes a players only call upon each other for accountability, and a recommitment to getting the job done right is exactly what is in order to get rid of a negative shadow over a group. Think about the work meetings youve been in. There's a different atmosphere when supervisors are in the meeting and when they are not in the meeting. When it's just you and your peers. It's more relaxed, free thinking, and easier to speak truthfully. Im glad they are having a players only meeting. Shows that they care. I'd be worried if this wasn't the case. Ehhhhhh... I am going to have to disagree there and point you needing to rewatch the Ken Zampese and Bill Lazor offenses. There's a reason why they have both spent the last couple years as offensive assistants and it's not because their schemes when they were offensive coordinators worked. Oh, those schemes are designed to work, but only to be understood by engineers and physicists. RE: Bengals defense holds player only meeting - Destro - 10-11-2024 Have heard that those are bad news. And Hilton specifically mentioned they have to stop trying to punch the ball out every play, and focus on just tackling and making stops. I agree with this and will add to focus on the fundamentals. I think a lot of young guys try to do too much superstar antics and end up looking like idiots in the process. Every great player is fundamentally sound.
