Target for target I throw to Gesicki. Chase is a great WR but so is Gesicki and Gesicki has the size and is getting single coverage you would be a fool not to target him.

This is possibly the worst case of recency bias I’ve ever seen. I get it, Gesicki is coming off a career game, and Chase wasn’t very good today, but FFS man.

Sure it does.
Gesicki is a better, more reliable 3rd option in the passing game over Iosivas.

They can run with Hudson if they want an extra receiving TE or run with Sample for the blocking.

The most effective they’ve been running 12 personnel was with All and Sample. Ofc you can use it with those other guys, but the fact that neither Hudson or Gesicki can block is kind of limiting.

Gesicki? In what way?
In games they've been without Higgins (4), Gesicki has put up 22 rec for 282 yards.
That averages to 5.5 rec and 70.5 yards per game average when Higgins has been out.
70.5 YPG would equate to nearly 1200 yards in a season.

Gesicki is plenty fine as a 2/3 option, at least production-wise.

Gesicki is already up to 353 yards on the season through 9 games.
He could be the first Bengals TE to surpass 500 yards since Eifert back in 2015.

The most yards the Bengals have had from a TE in the past 2 decades was Gresham in 2012 with 737.
Gesicki would have to produce on average 50 yards per game from here on out to surpass that, but it's achievable.

Once ESPN updates the stats I will post them for you.

theyre targeting him because theyre desperate. It's Jamar and... you see?

Gesicki is a nice option but IDEALLY as a high end 4th option. Low end 3rd.

just my opnion though. You didnt really see the rest of the league jump quickly to sign Gesicki

Dude there’s no stats you’re going to show me that proves Mike Gesicki is the best pass catching option on the team. LOL

His stats are comparable to Chase's stats target for target.

A 4th option is going to have pretty low production in any offense.
Your 4th option should be someone like Iosivas.
Someone young still developing that you can get the ball here and there when the other guys are covered.

We will have to disagree, as I think Gesicki is a perfect 3rd option in an offense with Chase and Higgins.
He's also proven he can step up when you have one of your top 1-2 guys go down, which is also what you want to see in a 2/3.

We'll see how he pans out the rest of the season.

I like the job Gesicki is doing, no doubt, but let's not get too crazy now.

There are folks here who need a good helping of Crow. After week 1, a thread asserting G-Sticky was a terrible pick-up received a lot of support.

WTS, he's not in the same league as a pass receiver as Chase.

He's been a great #2 for us the last 2 weeks and hopefully, he starts pulling some coverage his way so JC can eat again.

a 4th option in a Burrow offense usually sees more volume than other 4's

I’ll eat my crow if you promise to stop calling him that.

Chase is better no question.

Gesicki getting single coverage or no coverage at all like his one TD then he is the better option in most cases.

The only person on this team that might get double coverage off Chase and Tee is Gesicki. Feed the guy the rock till they stop doubling Chase and Tee then they can really eat, and we can really be a dangerous offense like we should be with these players. Burrow Chase Tee Gesicki.

Burton needs to play I do not care if he kicks Zac's dog right before the game. Zac is the head coach...Zac calls the plays on offense....Zac will have direct influence on who is picked as skill position guys on offense. So, Zac basically drafted Burton he knew he was a headcase now deal with him he deserves 2 or 3 deep targets a game on go routes. He is the 4th best option and can give great production with very few targets that is a weapon we will need.

G-Sticky is a very creative name and fitting. I hope it sticks...no pun intended or was it.

You CANNOT play a guy who blows off the Pregame walkthrough.

I hated the Burton pick when it happened and said Zac can no longer trot out his "culture" line. But sitting JB (we have a lot of those) was a move back in the direction of getting that culture back.

Oh and G-Sticky

RE: Gesicki - 007BengalsFan - 11-03-2024

Gesicki isnt a true TE.  He is more of a hybrid.  Even though he is bigger than Tee, he still runs a faster 40 than Tee and has stepped in well to the #2 role with Tee being out.  Give the guy credit.  Lets see how he does the rest of the year.

You lot clearly learned nothing from the Money Mac debacle.

“G Sticky” Will probably have 2 fumbles on Thursday now. Ninja
