So if the Bengals get a grown man, ready for action NOW, and only get 4-6 years out of him, that's still a good pick in my book. I mean, think about it, how many players do teams actually keep for the entirety of their career anyway? I was meaning more that he might just be ok out of the gate and may not really grow much beyond what he is now. He showed pass rush ability but wasn't exactly a menace. He had 9 sacks in 58 games. I'd want someone taken earlier with maybe more of a Pro Bowl promise who can start with him as a rotational depth piece. If Bengals really think Jenkins will succeed long-term at 3T, maybe Alexander rotate with him and take someone like Kenneth Grant to start at 1T with McKinnley Jackson to back him up. Or get Walter Nolen in Rd 1 and Darius Alexander in Rd 4 to cover 3T while Jenkins and Jackson rotate at the other spot. Oh I know they don't always re-sign guys after their rookie contracts, but if he's going to be what people want as the pass rush solution at 3T, I think a 25 year old will be too old for the liking of MB. Now if they have him eyed as a depth piece, that's a different story and I can see that being more likely to happen. I'm not huge on Alexander, I was just supposing. But I think that Kenneth Grant would would be a no-brainer home run type of pick. Yes, I know that we drafted Jackson last season, but aside from Rankins the Bengals only have the two young guys under contract. Grant has the versatility to play either position if asked to, and the speed to back it up. I would feel confident with any combination of Jenkins, Jackson or Grant on any down. I'd be happy with Booker or Harmon at 17 tbh. RE: We Need to Trade Back - Whatever - 02-10-2025 (02-05-2025, 05:49 PM)SunsetBengal Wrote: Say no more. I ran this one with a trade, shortly after Nati Bengals posted this one. I gave #17 and #154 for #27, #59 and #128. I think I got pretty fair quality from the picks. Ran this one this morning.... RE: We Need to Trade Back - Bengalstripes9 - 02-10-2025 I wouldn’t mind trading back for a guard or corner in round 1. But they could just take the player at their slot. Definitely a possibility. RE: We Need to Trade Back - Hammerstripes - 02-11-2025 I;m all for trading back, but I'm not going to trade so we have a a bunch of 4th, 5th and 6th rounders. Those guys aren't the types we need on this team. If we can move back into the 20s and pick up an extra 2nd, that's perfect. Maybe turn that into a 3rd and 4th. We need quantity AND quality, not just a bunch of back end roster fillers. |
