He has never finished in the top 10 in any season. He had a good run in the 2021 post season where he made some kicks. Beyond that, the guy has been subpar. Again, the stats dont lie. RE: McMaybe - FormerlyBengalRugby - 02-12-2025 If they move on from McPherson, I will advocate for an uber aggressive offense utilizing a top rugby kicking talent. That would allow for aggressive play calling, as rugby has some hard runners, and players who can kick regular field goals as well as drop kick field goals at anytime in the game. Say you are going for 2 every time and it is a simple drop kick that is basically automatic. If you get the right look, it could be an easy two instead. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMfaavF1R3E Anything to get more ruggers into the NFL! York seemed solid but I'm not sure he could maintain it or he wouldn't be available. I think they'll stick for another year but they'll have their eye on the waiver wire in case he don't get back on track quickly RE: McMaybe - George Cantstandya - 02-12-2025 (02-12-2025, 07:43 PM)FormerlyBengalRugby Wrote: If they move on from McPherson, I will advocate for an uber aggressive offense utilizing a top rugby kicking talent. Doubt the FO is going to take a $3.75m dead cap hit for a K and by the time final cuts come they'll have already paid him $933k, so at that point it's all but guaranteed. If we cut him post June 1, we save money. Around $2.5 mil, I think. https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/cincinnati-bengals RE: McMaybe - pally - 04-10-2025 There was a serious outside distraction for Evan that makes one wonder how much it may have affected his kicking His younger brother Alex, a kicker for Auburn, was seriously ill through most of the season. A young man who usually weighs about 160lbs was down to 110lbs in July. After lots of tests he was ultimately diagnosed with severe ulcerative colitis. As a result in late December, Alex had his entire large intestine removed Alex is doing better and is back kicking...complete with his ostomy bag Hopefully Evan will be better too RE: McMaybe - HarleyDog - 04-10-2025 (02-12-2025, 05:09 PM)Fan_in_Kettering Wrote: I firmly believe 2024 was an anomaly for Evan McPherson. He’ll be the kicker in 2025. His injury probably occurred earlier than reported. It seemed he wasn't taking it serious last year. Just my thoughts. He had a good run in the post season in 2021 where he made a bunch of kicks but overall when you look at how he has done throughout his entire NFL career, he has never come close to finishing in the top 10 in field goal percentage in any year he has played. ^ this. I'm a Mac fan personally,, but have to agree. Want to see him in the league. RE: McMaybe - TKUHL - 04-12-2025 Didn’t his orig long snapper go down. He never seemed the same since. RE: McMaybe - TecmoBengals - 04-13-2025 Any UDFAs on the radar to bring in for camp competition from this year's draft eligible kickers? The smiling and laughing after he missed. Very irritating. I think he would've even missed more kicks had Zac let him have more opportunities. It seems like we went for it sometimes when we could've kicked a FG just because Zac probably thought he was going to miss anyway.
