RE: RB Need/Set? - bfine32 - 02-24-2025 I hope we're not drafting anyone after RD 3 based on need. I hope we're looking at BPA. RBs have been available later in the draft lately. Some fine favs the last few years: Kyren Williams Tyrone Tracy Braelon Allen Some favs this year that I feel would improve the room immediately: Phil Mafah Ollie Gordon II Jordan James RE: RB Need/Set? - SunsetBengal - 02-24-2025 (02-24-2025, 06:44 PM)Luvnit2 Wrote: We trash the team development, but Brown was a great pick and had a breakout round 2 year. This was an example of the team brought in insurance with Moss, but Brown exceeded the expectations. We trash team development, particularly via the draft, because they have hit well on so few picks in recent years. For every Chase Brown there seems to be a couple of failures to launch, like Myles Murphy and Dax Hill... I understand, but if a 6th round hits, why wouldn't that negate a questionable 1st round pick. I think fans expect 1st round picks to start immediatley and be all pro by year 2 or 3. That is unrealistic, draft has too many variables. I feel if we did a better job with FA cleaning up our draft misses, we would be a lot better. All teams miss in the draft, it is nature of the beast. Take 2025, it is widely beluevd there are as low as 5 and as high as 12 true first round picks. Years ago, I did some research. If my memory is correct, 1st round picks only average a little over 5 years playing in the NFL, less tan 15% are perennial all pro players. Each round, the numbers decline and by round 4 it becomes a crap shoot. That was years ago, so not sure how that has aged the past 5 or 6 years. Maybe someone can do some research and let us know. RE: RB Need/Set? - Goalpost - 02-24-2025 This is a good RB class. I like the two Ohio State guys because they both shared carries seemingly unselfishly. But neither are good pass blockers and that's one thing Zac wants. I like the syracuse kid Lequint Allen in the late rounds. The best pass blocking RB in this class and is great out of the backfield. He's not a burner but he'll run 4.5's and that is sufficient. And he's only 20 years old. I don't think that they need to keep paying Moss, as I think that role could easily be filled by a mid-late round draft pick. This guy here....best pass blocking back in the draft too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rk3hB5QBp88&t=156s RE: RB Need/Set? - The D.O.Z. - 02-24-2025 We need another guy to spell Brown. I like Herbert, but he’s a FA. Moss does nothing for me. Nor does Williams. I’m an admitted Ohio State fan and have said for three plus years now that I’d LOVE to have Tre Henderson in stripes. If we can trade back and pick up some extra picks, I’d REALLY like to spend a third round pick on him. Judkins is good too, but I’ve been a Henderson fan for years and would love to have him over any RB in this draft. Good at catching the ball out of the backfield, good in short yardage, some good burst but it doesn't show any pass blocking. I will take your word for it on Lequint's pass protection Pulses. Made me raise an eyebrow. ![]() RE: RB Need/Set? - pulses - 02-24-2025 (02-24-2025, 10:21 PM)Nate (formerly eliminate08) Wrote: I like what I saw from Lequint Allen in this vid. RE: RB Need/Set? - Summerall-Madden - 02-25-2025 Maybe having a RB over to provide on depth! RE: RB Need/Set? - Bengalstripes9 - 02-25-2025 Set at RB 1. Could use a good backup like Perine. I could see that, both are built like FB's and are extremely hard to tackle, Skattebo is a better pass catcher though and think he has better quicks. Both are tough as nails and good in pass pro. RE: RB Need/Set? - puddycat - 02-26-2025 Must add to the room. I'd like another shifty pass-catcher, but needs some juice 'cause our OL can't block for screens. Until our OL becomes mobile a big back is a waste. RE: RB Need/Set? - Nate (formerly eliminate08) - 02-26-2025 (02-26-2025, 04:28 AM)puddycat Wrote: Must add to the room. Big Backs can have juice, Ashton Jeanty ain't no little Back but we all saw what he did last season nearly breaking Barry Sanders record. Mims is extremely athletic and if we add a couple athletic Guards we might be better on screens. Skattebo is a big Back and he has some juice and was great on screens at Arizona State. OK that's a low bar as our corners weren't great but he was coming into being a strong starter at the position. I don't think of him as a failure to launch. Basically I'd say he's expected value for a late first rounder. I wonder how much of an effect Sequan Barkley and Derrick Henry will have on where running backs are drafted, with the year and impact they had. |
