Yay, a position the bengals has historically not valued is going to be a premium.

Not much from the Raiders site on him…
Cappa spent the past three seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, making 50 starts at right guard. From 2022-24, the Bengals offense ranked sixth in the NFL in scoring (24.2 points per game), second in the NFL in passing yards per game (255.5), sixth in first downs per game (21.2), seventh in third down conversion percentage (43.4) and third in red zone efficiency (62.9 percent).

RE: Free agent predictions - THE PISTONS - 03-10-2025

I'd go for like Scherff or Zeitler at Guard. Older guys. Shorter-term deals.

I think an extension with Tee will be announced over the next 3 days.

We'll shock and go after a big name CB like DJ Reed, Ward, Douglas, Hobbs, Murphy, or Davis. Davis being who we sign.

We sign Milton Williams at DI.

We sign either Bosa or Chase Young at End.

We sign S Jeremy Chinn or Andre Cisco.

RE: Free agent predictions - CJD - 03-10-2025

I don't dare predict what this team does in free agency because, to this point, they have so thoroughly blundered this off season that I don't think it really matters that much. Any prediction would be either unrealistic or incredibly cynical.

My only hope is that they don't mess up free agency as badly as they messed up the pre-free agency stage of the off season.

RE: Free agent predictions - ochocincos - 03-10-2025

Bengals Top 51 cap space sitting at $44 mill after the Ford and Gesicki signings, according to Spotrac.
This includes allocated cap for the draft pool, but it does not account for the typical $5 mill or more they reserve for injuries and extensions.
Therefore, the number they more likely have to play with in FA is around $35-39 mill.
That's still enough to sign a few solid guys.
We may also end up seeing a couple extra cuts like Zack Moss to free up a few extra mill if they really needed or wanted to.

RE: Free agent predictions - Synric - 03-10-2025

I expect the Bsngals to sign Azeez Ojulari today he's there type. They were interested in him at rhe trade deadline.

RE: Free agent predictions - TJHoushmandzadeh's Shiny Shoes - 03-10-2025

My expectations:

Veteran versatile lineman to compete for a starting job with Volson, Ford and round 3-5 draft pic. Patrick Mekari on a Karras type deal might be a decent shout here given his age, experience of AFC N and it’s always good to take from your rivals.

Still ascending (?) DE looking for a second contract. This could be Ossai returning, it could be someone like Koonce, Ojulari or even Chase Young (who played on a one year deal last year). This will likely be their biggest splash.

Veteran DT - someone on the way down but hopefully still has some juice left. Maybe Jonathan Allen is the hope here but I think he’ll be too expensive and they’ll get a lower tier guy instead.
I’d also expect a second veteran to be added later on a one year deal as well to compete in camp

Veteran RB - a proven pass protector who can be RB2 without getting Burrow killed.

Wild cards
Safety & LB - if someone they like’s market is weaker than expected (like Vonn Bell in 2020) they may sign Stone/Pratt’s replacements in FA.

That would be enough to give them some flexibility in the draft (they’ll still need to draft DT, DE, G and likely LB and RB but if they’re not ready before the bye the veterans can hold the fort) so they can still take the better prospect not just those ready to start week 1.

RE: Free agent predictions - Luvnit2 - 03-10-2025

I predict too many fans will melt down in next 2 ways. Some fans to make threats to no longer be fans (who cares). Some fans will continue to focus on the past, should have signed Chase earlier, should have given Tee 30+ million earlier, should have given Trey a new contract last year while forgetting all 3 are still under contract and Bengals have their rights for at least 2 more years.

The sky is falling mentality in this forum by some is disheartening.

I predict other teams will strike and get deals done and those same fans will nt even look at the deal, but will immedately bash our FO.

I predict the off season is a long journey and in the end FO will give us a much better roster in 2025 than we had in 2024. It just won't be on day one starting with the tampering period.

RE: Free agent predictions - Ell Prez - 03-10-2025

Does anyone see a realistic path to being a Super Bowl contender next year? As someone else said, at best our offense is the exact same just 3x more expensive. Which means we don’t have money to fix the defense. So many holes. We need better LB, 2-3 DE depending on Hendrickson, DT, better CB, better S maybe even 2 S.

I fully expect the bengals to sit on their hands and sign a B level player, 1 C and 2D. I mean this by timing, like the first guys signed are A. We’ll jump in at the second wave and third, and then the last wave of players we’ll grab a couple. It won’t push the team forward, we’ll all get hyped over the draft, and come game opener when we can’t stop the run or pass again, it won’t matter.

I hate being so pessimistic but this team does it to me

They will not sign any big splash free agents. They will replace Rankins and Cappa. They try to cover their holes somewhat as the draft is unpredictable . Trey will end up staying because they have the advantage there. He won’t be happy. Doubtful he can find a suitor at his dollar amount and term length and a draft pick for Cincy. Chase they will sign.

Possible 20m per year for Dan Moore Jr. is insane.

Yes. This is a team that won its last 5. It lost 7 games by one score. It should have beaten the Chiefs but for a BS call; it took the Ravens to OT and should have won in OT and then was a missed 2point conversion from beating them in the other game.

It’s possible that the O actually gets better (better G play, Chase Brown as starter for whole season).

The D-line should be much improved by not having Lawrence Guy or Zach Carter in there. They should add at least four DL through FA/draft. Let’s say two or them hit in a big way (last time they signed an Edge in FA they signed Hendrickson, they got Hubbard in the 3rd round; Carlos Dunlap and Geno Atkins were in the same draft class so they do know what they are doing at DL from time to time). They then need two of Murphy, Ossai (if he re-signs), McKinnley Jackson and Kris Jenkins to take that next step. Murphy had above average win rates, he needs to convert those to sacks; the two 2nd year DTs are primed to breakout now they have a year in the NFL and the game has slowed down for them).

The secondary has flashed and has shown signs of getting it more together down the stretch. The upside of CTB is pro bowler. Dax Hill showed real promise, DJ Turner has flashed too. They need consistency.

It may not happen but there’s definitely a path and it’s not a path that requires every signing to be a hit but they will need some hits.

The trend has been different, we have signed players last three years on 1st and 2nd days... like any team not all signing works out and we dont always agree with the signings but this Free agency we had under Marvin Lewis... times have changed with bengals and free agency.  Go back and find a 3 year period where we have been this active in FA.

A source tells ESPN's Jeremy Fowler that Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jonathan Allen plans to visit the Minnesota Vikings.

Relax people. The Bengals will be big time players in free agency, starting next Monday, as usual.

That is a TON of hits. Every team has an nfl draft. We have to get exponentially better than the next team. What makes you think CTB is a pro bowler or will even improve? Same for Murphy? Jenkins I could see. But there’s also a chance these players regress in a new scheme.

One score games don’t mean much. Most nfl games are one score when you factor in prevent D and garbage time scores.

We have more holes than last year and last years team wasn’t very good.

This is comical 2 hours into opening of tampering period and FA nor draft occurred.

Let's revisit this roster in July at training camp.
