There are great run blockers and great running backs that make it very hard to stop the run. A running back has a 6 yard head start against a stationary DT being blocked by OG's and centers who weigh 300 to 330 lbs. How is that easy? You can win the battle and still have to stop a guy like Henry who weighs 235 to 240 lbs. and a sprinter as well. I think it's because I always associated mid-round picks like Peko as being guys who could defend the run well, but it was guys with pass rush prowess who were taken 1st round usually. I'm not saying it's the right mentality, but it's what I had/have and why I have been more down on the FA additions. If a defense cannot stop the run effectively, their pass rushers will never have a chance to do what they do best. RE: The Bengals have a slightly worse roster than last season - RunKijanaRun - 03-12-2025 No, the roster isn’t better, and we have some veterans who are going to cause a distraction if they aren’t extended or traded. It’s not looking good. And after 4:00, I think we’ll know their long-term intentions towards Tee & Trey. And we’ll have fans busy explaining all of it away, via Disneyland’s best wifi hotspot. More moves will come. Yep, wait and see after FA actually starts. I will judge when Guard is addressed. Rankins sucked and offered nothing last season and was a 3-tech and they tried to replace Reader with him, stupid. Now we got Slaton who is an actual Nose Tackle like Reader, so I would say we are upgraded at DT now especially with BJ back. Oren Burks is a good player from what I saw late last season and in the post. Pratt doesn't fit Golden's Defense from what we saw at ND, Burks does. Cappa sucked and we can upgrade over him pretty easily once we DO add someone. Same with Volson. Get a couple Guards and the roster is better no question. Cool, you are acting like you have all of the answers and anyone offering calm is a bad thing. Carry out with your cry baby antics. ![]() Please quit being generic. Spell it out, what exactly will we know at 4 p.m. today if Trey is nt extended and Tee has not yet signed. Did I miss FA stops at 4 today? It amazes me the irrationality of fans. We don't even know every player that will be available (cuts in coming days and weeks) and to act as though the free agent window has closed before the start of FA is ludicrous. I don't think we got worse. But, i don't think we got much better either. But, still will sign more guys and draft. A lot of the signings from the past 2 free agency periods got waived after a year, so maybe it's good we haven't signed a lot. RE: The Bengals have a slightly worse roster than last season - J24 - 03-12-2025 It's not a good start to the offseason but there is plenty of time between now and the start of the season to improve the team. I'm not going to lie though it is frustrating that this team is stuck in neutral instead of going full speed. Being a billionaire isn’t enough, the Brown family needs more. Good for them. Why change when the fan base accepts it and keeps paying for tickets and buying merch. Yep and already boycott thread....same crap just a different year. I try to wait until November and 2-8 record to bail. ![]() RE: The Bengals have a slightly worse roster than last season - QueenCity - 03-12-2025 I think a lot of people expected there to be some urgency this off-season. Ultimately I think the Bengals are seeing if there are any trade offers for Tee and Trey before meeting some numbers. If the Bengals could actually hit on draft picks I'd be fine with a 1 year mini rebuild with a chance at the playoffs. You whining about me whining about the bungles is just hilarious. You tell people who are unhappy about the bungles to stop following them. Take your own advice and stop worrying about me. You can’t, though, and you know why. RE: The Bengals have a slightly worse roster than last season - Luvnit2 - 03-12-2025 (03-12-2025, 05:14 PM)RunKijanaRun Wrote: You know the significance of 4. But, I did not give. them a deadline of 4 p.m. on day 1 when free agency officials begins, not ends. Yes,I think if you can't handle the normous pressure of being a fan of any team and lack the understanding sports is entertainment, then time to leave. It is a game most of us watch for enjoyment. I have no ownership so don't make money whether they win or lose. But hey, by all means stay miserable and don't enjoy the journey because it is too bumpy for you. No skin off my back, yu could disappear from the forum tomorrow and I won't know you left.
