The tag makes a lot of players mad as it is one year and no large guaranteed multi-year money. But, yes...to us normal people it seems great. Unfortunately for Trey, he's on the wrong side of 30. They can hold him hostage with the tag until he's about 33/34. And they've shown they'd do it too. RE: Franchise tag - ERIC1 - 04-04-2025 this is a great city to live in as Trey has stated..You pay me 15-16 million a year to play the game of football..Ill sign a ten year deal RE: Franchise tag - ERIC1 - 04-04-2025 (04-03-2025, 03:17 PM)THE PISTONS Wrote: The tag makes a lot of players mad as it is one year and no large guaranteed multi-year money. there is no unfortunate for Trey..he is a multimillionaire many times over..He seems to be a great guy..he loves this town and if he stays injury free will have a wonderful future with his family RE: Franchise tag - TheLeonardLeap - 04-04-2025 (04-04-2025, 10:59 AM)ERIC1 Wrote: this is a great city to live in as Trey has stated..You pay me 15-16 million a year to play the game of football..Ill sign a ten year deal Do you willingly take 50-60% of the pay your peers get at your job? RE: Franchise tag - Bengalfan4life27c - 04-04-2025 Tre is a elite pass rusher he below average run defender. His defensive snap percentage isnt what an elite all pro would want to have either RE: Franchise tag - ERIC1 - 04-04-2025 (04-04-2025, 11:01 AM)TheLeonardLeap Wrote: Do you willingly take 50-60% of the pay your peers get at your job? I was a hospital administrator for many years @ Brighams and Womens Hospital ( Harvard) in Boston..Made great money.... His defensive snap percentage isnt what an elite all pro would want to have either This was Katie's whole point. The Bengals made him an offer he wasn't happy with. He sees himself as the league leader in sacks (which he is) He does not see WHY he's the league leader in sacks, nor is he acknowledging his status as a run defender nor his age. That's why her statement that he will have to decide for himself what makes him happy. If he's happy with what they offer, he can sign the deal (It's obviously not what he wants, but I bet it's still a lot) or he can play out his existing contract then maybe be tagged or leave. It may seem cold, but it's the truth. |
