RE: Notes From Training Camp 2025 - Nate (formerly eliminate08) - 07-19-2025 I take it Erick is coming around sooner than thought with that terrible injury. I didn't think he even had a shot at playing this year... Wild. Would love it if he somehow got to play late in the season, damn good wham blocker. If they placed him on IR right now it would be season ending. If they place him on IR during final roster designations they can set him for return. He had his second surgery since the last injury in Mar. While it would be nice to see if he could play, I think he would be better off giving himself a full year of rehab before trying to get back out there. The knee has undergone 3 surgeries in 2 years..its been through a lot RE: Notes From Training Camp 2025 - rfaulk34 - 07-19-2025 (Yesterday, 04:16 PM)pally Wrote: Erick All has been placed on PUP Yep. When i first read that i was like heeeeeeeyyyyy. But i'm not gonna get my hopes up. They could move him to IR at any time. RE: Notes From Training Camp 2025 - jj22 - 07-19-2025 All’s placement on pup is noteworthy given they had ru,ed him out for 2025 already. I thought. RE: Notes From Training Camp 2025 - jj22 - 07-19-2025 They may be forced to sign a free agent end with 2 missing. Yep they are short bodies at the edge position but I know exactly who they should sign - that Hendrickson guy and the rookie Stewart out of Texas A&M. I would agree with what pally said. They could hold him on PUP and IR him after the rosters are set, juuuuuust in case he is cleared to play late in the season. IR now does not leave that option. Not with the offseason and the already questionable talent. I think we need to keep our expectations for the defense in check. I think we’ll see some improvement late in the season and year 2 in the system is when you’ll see the jump. All we heard about after last season was how good our talent was on defense with all these draft picks we spent on it and how the defense was all Lou's fault. Lou didnt have a true NT, played two rookies at DT that were injured at the begining of the year and had to deal with injuries at other positions. The team is now healthy, the two rookies have a year in the NFL under their belt, we have supposedly a great run stopping NT and we drafted more rookies to help. There is no reason this defense shouldnt be much better this year if the problem last year was Lou not being able to coach all this talent. We have that same talent back plus added to it. I thought Lou overall did a good job but the numbers don't lie the past 2 years our defense has been subpar at best, other teams go through same issues and injuries but we played worse than them. It was time for a change especially the short window more teams have on a real SB run. All the other years they were in the bottom half with 2021 being 16th. My attitude with Lou is mediocre at best. He did a poor job coaching up the youngsters which is important if all of your cap money is going to the offense. It will be interesting to see how the colts defense performs this year. He definitely is a wait for the physical guy RE: Notes From Training Camp 2025 - Joelist - 07-20-2025 I liked Lou in some respects but he did have an achilles heel in that his scheme required experienced pros with football smarts to execute it correctly. That was why when Lou finally bowed to reality and simplified the defense the play improved, and it also was his death knell. Golden's whole rep is around coaching players up and making the calls and alignments of his defense digestible by players so they concentrate on play on the field and not trying to understand the scheme. Yep, too complicated of a scheme can really hamper young or new player's ability to adapt. Sure hope Golden can get his Defense up to speed quickly. Also like the thought of adding Za'darius Smith if the Trey and Shemar crap keeps going on any longer. Maybe we are starting something new, no DE’s in the game. Use LB’s and extra D lineman, instead. Lol |
