And I've done a lot in my life outside of football. Hate much? This is a ridiculous rant with no truth you only seen him play just under 3 games as a pro. Arm strength? Show me one pass that he had that was under thrown. The first half of Mnf he threw like a freak and I was super excited. 2nd half was all on Marv/Hue. RE: Keith Wenning... Incapable? - grampahol - 12-30-2015 Cough cough.. Cardale Jones last year cough cough..national championship..cough cough Anything's possible.. Probable? That's another story.. RE: Keith Wenning... Incapable? - grampahol - 12-30-2015 Well...I've joked about people errecting a 70 foot statue of Mike Brown on Fountain Square, but if they have to use Wenning and he takes us all the way to winning the super bowl they might forget Fountain Square and rename it Wenning Square with a 70 foot statue of Wenning urinating on the commissioner..lol RE: Keith Wenning... Incapable? - Nately120 - 12-31-2015 What's to say any practice squad QB can't win football games? Heck, thanks to Kurt Warner we can't discount grocery store bagboys from being HOF-level QBs anymore. Anyone can be a HOF QB. Anyone. You never know until a guy gets 3 or so years in a system. You never know until you play a QB; that's why teams like the Browns who give 4 different QB's a shot each year find themselves with so many HOF QBs! Wenning could be awesome. We literally have NO way of knowing if a QB is good or not. None. Zilch. Which makes me wonder who we need to start wondering about taking over for Wenning once Wenning actually plays. His arm isn't as strong as Dalton's and probably average at best for an NFL QB. With that said, and i made this comment in the preseason, he has a knack for putting the ball just out of the reach of defenders. He did it multiple times against Denver. Some said the WRs bailed him out but i just rewatched the game and he only missed a couple passes in the 2nd half. Most of his throws were good placement where only the receiver could get it. He missed Marvin Jones a couple times deep and Green missed 2 passes that he could/should have caught. RE: Keith Wenning... Assuage your worries. Kafka is in the house. Championship. RE: Keith Wenning... Incapable? - corpjet - 12-31-2015 Capable or Incapable we would/do not know until he received regular game action, its unfair to speculate until then. His college numbers are impressive but we also know that doesn't translate into being a successful pro. For our sake as Bengals fans lets hope he's more than competent if thrusted into game action. Kafka might be good, but I'm kinda wanting to see what the kid behind him has. So McCarron, Wenning, Kafka, and then who is behind Kafka is the guy I think could be special. So what you are saying is that the QB position is pretty much a giant guessing game where nothing can be determined until a guy gets actual game time? With 32 QB positions on earth and 16 games per season I would say that game time is at a premium and there HAS to be a way to determine if a guy is likely to be good or not without allocating precious game time to him.
