That was a pretty vague comment from Fred..

Do you have a point?

Not every Super Bowl winning coach throws the ball all over the field with a big lead in the second half.

The '13 Seahawks finished 31st in pass attempts and the '14 Seahawks finished dead last.

Last years the Panthers made it to the Super Bowl with an offense that was 27th in pass attempts.

In '12 Harbaugh took the Forty-niners to the Super Bowl while ranking 31st in pass attempts.  They lost to a Ravens team that finished 15th.

The '07 Giants team that beat the Patriots finished in the bottom half of the league in pass attempts.

The '05 Steelers finished dead last in pass attempts.

The 2015 Panthers were 2nd in rushing YPG and 9th in rushing YPC.
The 2014 Seahawks were 1st in rushing YPG and 1st in rushing YPC.
The 2013 Seahawks were 4th in rushing YPG and 12th in rushing YPC.
The 2012 49ers were 4th in rushing YPG and 3rd in rushing YPC.
The 2007 Giants were 4th in rushing YPG and 3rd in rushing YPC.
The 2005 Steelers were 5th in rushing YPG and 12th in rushing YPC.

If you're a great/good rushing team, running the ball isn't being unaggressive. Note they were all top-5 rushing teams and many were also were top-5 in rushing efficiency. Menawhile...

The 2016 Bengals are 14th in rushing YPG and 21st in rushing YPC.
The 2015 Bengals were 13th in rushing YPG and 21st in rushing YPC.
The 2014 Bengals were 6th in rushing YPG and 10th in rushing YPC.
The 2013 Bengals were 18th in rushing YPG and 27th in rushing YPC.
The 2012 Bengals were 18th in rushing YPG and 18th in rushing YPC.
The 2011 Bengals were 19th in rushing YPG and 26th in rushing YPC.

See a bit of difference there? If you are a good rushing team, rushing in the 4th quarter isn't necessarily equated to being unaggressive. That said, if you are a shit rushing team, like the Bengals normally are, if you're rushing in the 4th quarter, then you are being unaggressive.

It starts and ends with Mike Brown ....PERIOD!!!

Heck, I'd even be in favor of him retiring and handing the baton to Katie!

Don't forget Cincinnati, Marge Schott was the one who brought in that fireball Lou Pinella, and she got a championship out of it!!!!

Leonard alreay did a great job at discussing your masterfully cherry picked stats so I won't get into that anymore.

Do you have a point?

I don't see anything in the OP saying we have to throw the ball all over the place in the second half in order to show we're an aggressive team. When you're fighting for your season and continually don't go for it on 4th downs, FGs instead of TDs, etc, you're showing you aren't aggressive. Are you trying to argue that Marvin is more aggressive and willing to take chances then those other coaches? Obviously being aggressive isn't always the best option but when when you're having the type of season we're having and still playing not to lose its pretty frustrating to watch.

Terrible playoff record. Terrible primetime record. Right around .500 vs rookie QBs. This is what being a conservative coach looks like. He plays not to lose. He doesnt have the edge necessary to get us any further.

Therein lies the difference, fred.
When is the last time the Bengals scored more than 3 points in the 4th quarter WHILE LEADING? (Not out of necessity - trying for a comeback win, etc)
That is the very definition of conservative.

Sorry, fred, you lose this argument... badly.
