Ford has been primarily a backup here for 3 years? If you get a chance to play you better gut it out in the last game of the year as you could very well be playing for your NFL career. Tee is getting paid just a question of where. Gut it out for what is in all likelihood a meaningless end of the year game is just not the same position at all.
So Tee quits on his teammates who are playing for their careers? As of the end of that game, the Bengals were still in the hunt for a playoff spot. Didn't see Joe or Ja'Marr quit, nor anyone else. Tee is soft

I dont think Tee is soft.  He has been playing on the bad ankle for a few weeks.  You could tell he hasnt been 100% in previous games.  Im guessing the ankle finally bothered him enough he had to sit.

I am not a fan of paying Higgins 23 million a year..but I doubt he "quit"..that's silly..Tee is injury prone

RE: Tee vs a NEW D - bfine32 - 01-05-2025

There's no doubt Tee has had an injury-prone season. Perhaps after the season we'll discover he was dealing w/ more than just soft-tissue issues.

One thing I strongly believe is: Tee's a great teammate and would not "quit" on his team.

When we ragged dude he asked (never "demanded") us to either sign him or trade him. When we said no, he signed his tag early and reported to work.

I'm at the point where I really don't care. This team as constructed is a Superbowl team when fully healthy and an average kicker. But let's not make stuff up about Tee because we're mad he's hurt. I'm sure no one wanted Tee to have a career year more than Tee

I agree and he definitely proved his worth to me down the stretch. I just don't want him to be the plan as starter but definitely think he has a role.

Well, let's hope that's the case, if so, I will redact what I said.

I have no idea the extent of the injury or Tees mentality. I was just pointing the differences of where these two players are at in they're careers. I don't hate on players if they get in bad mindsets at times though. Because the real elephant in the room is this organization is at the bottom of the league how the treat contracts for players. Tee was the only player not signed on his tag. Just let that sink in and we would hate on him if it effects him at all. No other organization asks they're players to play with that.

One of your best posts!

Tyreek wants out of Miami. He only costs about $39 Mil against the cap for 2025. Let Tee walk and bring him in.

RE: Tee vs a NEW D - TheLeonardLeap - 01-06-2025

With the season done. Tee's updated snap count % through his career.....
2020: 74.81%
2021: 64.60%
2022: 68.38%
2023: 52.67%
2024: 55.94%

Remember that every time Tee isn't on the field, someone on the bench IS.... Drew Sample ended up seeing the field on offense more than Tee this year. Yoshi was pushed into being on the field for 78.45% of the offensive snaps this year.

I know some of it was Tua missing time, but I think Tyreek has lost a step, and without that speed he's less special... I also really don't like the guy.

Nor do I. It's the dynamic that many who say KC parted w/ Tyreek and BUF parted w/ Diggs. Guess what Diggs and Hill have in common: They're turds.

RE: Tee vs a NEW D - Nicomo Cosca - 01-06-2025

Chad thinks Tyreek has too many kids.

To the defense of Stefon Diggs. Granted I wouldn't want him on the Bengals, but I think he's only just a turd as far as a being a good teammate goes, not as a human being off the field. Certainly doesn't belong being grouped together with Tyreek Hill. I don't think Diggs has gotten into any legal trouble as far as I know, he's not out there beating pregnant women, probably children, potentially other women, and being a deadbeat dad.

If keeping Tee means keeping Chase and keeping Burrow happy then you sign Tee. May be that simple.

Does going 9-8 because we dont have a defense make Burrow happy?   Its not so simple as just re-signing Tee when you have other things that need to be addressed.

Ja'Marr Chase is the only notable player from his draft class still playing on his rookie contract.

Regardless is you agree with Joe about keeping Tee or not, he’s 100% right that they need to start getting these deals done early.

I agree.  They need to be working on the Chase and Hendrickson extensions this week.

I'd prefer defense vs an injury prone WR but the way Joe talks in the media he's all about his WR stable. He's a football genius so of course he wants defense and wants the whole package.  If given a preference he knows what he has in Tee and hasn't adopted Tobin's not enough pie talk.

Just a guess on my end but if we let Tee walk I'm guessing he's going to be very vocal and bitter. If we sign him he's going to be vocal and happy.  If the FO has limited resources it's their job to find a way.  I can't keep the losses straight it anymore but I think it was the Ravens loss where he had the quote about guys having to decide if they want to be there or not.  I really read that as him knowing what he has in Tee to be the top offense next year and guys playing and coaching D needing to not give up record points on the weekly.  Again, just my assumption.
