He's better than anybody on our roster south of Tee Higgins, but he's in no way a suitable replacement for Tee. May as well just roll with Yoshi at WR 2 and get that third year bounce. Either way our offense gets worse.

slayton wouldnt be a tee replacement. You dont have to replace Tee's production, although that would be nice.

"may as well just roll with yoshi at wr 2"

Idk what to say to that. Thats just ignorant. Yoshi doesnt have 800 yard capability like Slayton

I would imagine a lot of teams are out on Higgins.  He will be in the exact situation as last year except being paid more.  I just dont see a bunch of teams being interested in trading for Tee.  How many teams talked to Tee and his agent last year?

Technically Slayton has never had 800 yards. It’s close… but still.

Also, when you look at opportunity share it’s about the same caliber of player.

Further, One was the 98th (out of 98) WR by PFF metrics, the other was 91. It’s just not an upgrade. Period.

So yes, you actually could make the claim, we should just roll with Yoshi as #2.

PFF also had Tee rated higher than Jamarr. Please stop.

Imagine Yoshi with those horrible Giants teams. He wouldnt even sniff 400 yards

Stop with the nonsense. The QB does not have that much impact on WR stats, find me anything different.

Kadarius Toney

In 12 games with the giants: 60 targets, 41 catches, 420 yards, 0 tds.

In 20 games with the chiefs: 55 targets, 41 catches, 340 yards, 3 tds.

Can we agree on this? PFF, but isn’t perfect but generally close. Yoshi and Slayton are both bottom 25% in the league. Higgins and Chase are top 15% in the league. The difference, when you’re in that tier isn’t needle mover.

If you want Slayton, you should be ok with Karras and Cappa too.

I think of slayton as a decent stop gap. Thats it. And he is better than yoshi. In no way could Yoshi put up 750 yards with the offenses the Giants were running out there

The Giants were also 28th in passing offense this season, even with Malik Nabers on the team.

This is where we will agree to disagree

And the eagles were worse with AJ Brown and Devonta Smith…
Also, the bears with DJ Moore, Keenan Allen and Rome Odunze.

What’s the point?

You have a forgetful memory. I was clamoring for a better 3 behind Chase and Higgins all offseason, up until the trade deadline. In no way am I a Yoshi “fan boy”. He is a borderline 3 and more likely a better 4 WR. I just feel that him and Slayton are more of the same.

The reality is they are both below average level WR3s.

youre being dishonest to try and make the point that yoshi is better than a guy who has racked up multiple 700 yard seasons with terrible qb play

yoshi is a good redzone weapon, but I'll never expect him to crack 550 yards in a season. I'll be shocked if that were to happen

he's not even close to a borderline 3. You give him way too much credit. Which is why I referred to you as a yoshi fan boy. He's a decent #4 WR with really good RZ capability.

I literally said “likely a better 4”. You’re impossible Frank.

Good day.

I never said he was better. They are, and as I quoted “more of the same”.

This is more a reflection on how I feel about Slayton, than what I feel about Yoshi.

With more experience, there's no reason he couldn't be a good Tyler Boyd replacement.

Well, other than he doesn't have Tyler's brain.

Never mind.

I'd be happy with Yoshi being slotted as a #4 WR with a chance to climb up to a #3. But i would hope no one in the Bengals FO would look at him as a #3 with a chance to climb to a #2, until he proves he can do it.

Hands have always been Yoshi's problem and he really worked his ass off and got much better hand catching last year.

That doesn't mean he can be a #2 WR though. He will have to have monster growth just this year to become a #3 IMO.

I like Yoshi as he is really smart to go along with his crazy athleticism and size, but he has a lot of work to do to put up numbers like Slayton has
with terrible QB's. Yoshi at this point is a good red zone option for us and he made that one catch last season going down the sideline that shown
he has big time upside. And he at least can stay healthy a bit unlike Charlie Jones but he is not the answer if Tee leaves, he would be part of it tho.

True that he worked on his hands and made nice strides. My issue is his 'smarts'. It was poined out several times last year that some of Joe's misses to him were because he failed to read the defense properly and sit a route. Hopefully, the experience helps in that regard but it's something that can't really be seen until the live rounds start flying. If he becomes better in his routes and recognition, he has the size to move up and be more productive and get more snaps.

Ah, I forgot about that. Guess just going to Princeton doesn't mean you are the brightest bulb in the box. Mellow
