Guess just going to Princeton doesn't mean you are the brightest bulb in the box. A lot of his issues are just a lack of years on the field. Wasn't he a decathlete who had only played football for a relatively short time? Getting to understand all of the subtle nuances involved with adjusting routes according to what a defense is doing is tough enough for gifted athletes who have been playing football their entire lives, let alone for a guy who's still relatively new to the game. Perhaps it's because of that Princeton brain that he's been able catch on as well as he has? In my lifetime I've seen a few Olympic sprinters fail to convert to WR in the NFL. Yoshi might never be great, but I admire him for giving it his best shot. RE: Tee’s market price - WeezyBengal - 02-28-2025 Bengals have interviewed a total of 5 WRs so far at the combine. Writing is starting to feel like its on the wall... Quote:In addition to football, Iosivas started track in Junior School. Quote:In addition to his feats in high school football and track and field, he also lettered in a third sport, basketball. He played other sports, but he also played football pretty much all his whole life. Played it in grade school, middle school, and high school... and was at Princeton for 5 years. As TLL here shows, he has been playing football almost his entire life, so that probably isn't the reason for his struggles in running the right routes last season. Compared him to a 4 star (I think) guy like Jermaine Burton who had been attending camps with guys Housh since his Freshman year in college. The 49ers are taking a $31m cap hit because of the trade (Commanders have a $15.8m cap hit). That's the downside/risk of the void years. RE: Tee’s market price - c766 - 03-02-2025 Mid Tier Teams like the Bengalis dont get better by letting the #1 FA walk away to a new team. But the free up cap space for THIS year, which is what they need in order to give Purdy the contract that he needs. However, you make a good point about the cost of void years when things don't go as planned. For every person saying the Bengals should venture into the void year territory, there are plenty of examples for the management to point to as reasons they don't want to. The $31m dead cap hit this year. https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/san-francisco-49ers Dead Money Name Cap NumberDeebo Samuel $31,020,600 49ers are now up to $66m in dead cap in 2025. Guys on NFL radio acting like SF saves money to sign Purdy, but what you're showing says otherwise. I'm now thinking that what you said earlier about getting rid of the personality might have even more truth to it. Seems pointless to move him now, from a financial perspective. RE: Tee’s market price - Synric - 03-02-2025 First Trey Smith now Osa Odighizuwa. Free Agency is going to be bad this year.

This is a draft/develop problem. The overwhelming majority of first day two picks have been on the defensive side of the ball since 2021, and even 2020. 9/13 picks since 2021 on defense. 10/16 picks since 2020 on defense. Until that gets better, you keep your best players regardless of position. I’m hoping Al golden can get a lot more from the “high end” prospects over the last 4-5 years. One out would be if Davante Adams is released and the bengals want to sign him to a 2 year deal (I would assume with his age the contract would be more palatable, but I could be wrong) and flip Higgins for some assets. |
