Nice! What all are you doing to it?

I'm getting into off-roading vehicles now.

Currently it's awaiting a motor swap.
Switching the 383 out for a 440 that should have it running low 12's/high 11's in the 1/4 mile.

Nice I love both motors. 440 you should darn near pull the front nose of the car up  Big Grin

But i've done some sweet stuff with a 383. Father in law had a dart we put one in and it ran around the 12s.

What kind of Cam are putting in there? Are you going to bore it out 30 over?

Just a .509 hydraulic and I usually don't bore out, unless there is a scarring of the cylinder.
I had the motor in a full size Dodge pickup and it was running 13.50's, burning the tires the first 60 feet.
The heads were ported and stainless valves added.

The 383 was built in Cincy Speed Shop and run fairly well, but I had this 440 sitting around...so.....
ThumbsUp

Right!

That 440 will destroy a 383 the first 60...

Good luck, keep us updated what you're doing  Cool
