In those 5 game of the 2014 season Gordon's stat line was... He's 25 right now. He'll turn 26 before the season. Not sure where you're getting 27 from. Not that it really matters, just wanted to clarify... He sat out 2 years between college and the pros, and still put up the best season for a rookie WR his first year. I really don't think that rust is that big of a concern. Fwiw, I don't want him. I'm of the position that we have more than enough skill players. I just did a double take when I saw the stance that he's done, as in washed up. And IMHO, Adam Jones makes him look like Mother Teressa. That piece of human garbage is a whole different level, when it comes to valuing character. One guys has a bunch of positive weed charges, the other is a piece literal trash. RE: Would you be interested in Josh Gordon? - TKUHL - 03-30-2017 He did play good his last pre season. If he can still play at that level fine. I bet a lot of teams and fans will be silently jealous. Besides it's just pot right? He didn't beat a woman, shoot a kid, he's just made an impressive streak of poor choices. So if PAC Man DESERVES another chance according to Mike Brown why shouldn't Gordon. Yes he did hurt his team but he hurt himself the most. Maybe the choirboy experiment is over. I'm really tired of all these troublemakers getting so much consideration, no matter how good, young, and/or dumb they are. They get "consideration" because Mike "cheap" Brown knows he can get them for a bargain. He's always working from the angle of saving money, never forget that. They're looking at Mixon hoping they can get him down the line for a bargain. And MB fancies himself the "troubled youth whisperer". And the true reason behind the reasons - $$$ If he can snatch Gordon up for chump change it wouldn't surprise me. We're coming up on 30 seasons under Mikes GM leadership (he still takes a GM pay out for himself) and he still doesn't get it ? And at this point it's safe to say he never will. RE: Would you be interested in Josh Gordon? - impactplaya - 03-30-2017 I think anytime you have a chance to pick up a elite player at a bargain basement price You look into it . This is a league dominated by offense. You can't have too many talented WRS . Just ask the Pats and Falcons I could care less what he did as a Brown It was a toxic lockeroom and guys were there to only get a paycheck Gordon volunteered to check himself into rehab last August He finally owned up to he had a problem Gordon is upgrade to what we have behind AJ BTW Gordon is everybit as talented as Green Gordon is a classic Mike Brown kind of player World has given up on you.but here lad come on to the Bengals I enjoy giving 2nd chances I believe in redemption RE: Would you be interested in Josh Gordon? - ochocincos - 03-30-2017 (03-30-2017, 02:46 PM)McC Wrote: As to the photo, two words--Holy shit. There are guys in Leavenworth who look like Mother Teresa when compared to Adam Jones RE: Would you be interested in Josh Gordon? - magikod - 03-30-2017 He is a talented WR, but he needs to stay clean for us to even consider it. Are we leaning to the thug life? Seriously? That thread almost sounds like it is coming true. We want Mixon, Adam and Gordon on our team? True, but i would just rather have guys who take being a professional seriously. They can smoke weed after their career is over, doesn't last too long. Shame to throw it all away. These kind of things lead to another. Signs of problems that could happen again. We need to keep to the Andy Dalton, AJ Green, Tyler Eifert, Geno Atkins types that are professionals on and off the field IMHO. I don't know if it is fact, but I've seen a couple times that he is an alcoholic. The alcohol can definitely affect his judgement about getting high. I don't remember reading much "bad" stuff about him, just that he suffers from addiction. RE: Would you be interested in Josh Gordon? - SunsetBengal - 03-30-2017 (03-30-2017, 03:19 PM)CageTheBengal Wrote: So he posted a narcissistic post on social media with his shirt off like the rest of the male population that doesn't mean anything. Players have mentioned from time to time the difference in being in shape and being in game shape. If Hobson posted the same thing about one of our players he'd be called Hobspin and it would've been labeled a fluff piece. Agreed, he didn't do anything special in that post that screams "I'm an elite athlete". Hell, when I was 25 I could jam the ball with no one guarding me, as well as crush homers in batting practice setting. What has Gordon done to demonstrate that he actually wants to commit to a team? Because, even though a lot of players seem to think that everything is all about them, and that their actions only glorify or throw shade on themselves, individually. The truth of the matter is when a player screws up, he let's the rest of his team down. So, what has this guy done to show that he's ready to come back? Has he completed an in house rehab program? Is he holding down a regular civilian job? Is he actively attending 12 step meetings? Is he out there giving of his time to help the less fortunate? I say screw him, he squandered several opportunities to get himself right and commit to football. Let some rookie have an opportunity. That would mean another 1-2 years of cheap money, which would essentially be low risk. Gordon is actually younger than McCarron. That is probably right up Mikey's alley. |
