True story, turns out most passwords that require a number and special character contain 1 and !. The hypothesis on why is that people are, first, too lazy to think of something more unique, second, too lazy to try and remember other options. And such they use the first number and character [Shift-1] found on the left side of the keyboard. Hackers are very aware of this, so using those characters are not much help to your password security of you use them. It is best to utilize other numbers and characters in lieu or in addition to those two.
