"Where are Joe's protectors when he gets continual cheap shots and uncalled facemaskings?" Ate too much glass, taking a nap. I'm talking about putting Lee in at Center and putting Karras in for Volson. Get Burton at least 50% of the WR2 snaps going forward (this team isn't going to the playoffs, might as well get Burrow and Burton on the same page). Activate McLaughlin and start playing him, see what he's got to offer for the future. Defensively, give Murphy the bulk of Hubbard's snaps, Sam ain't doing anyone any good continuing to hobble around out there, anyway. Jordan Battle should get extensive time at both Safety positions, as Stone nor Bell are the future in that secondary. Lastly, get Jenkins and Jackson as many reps as possible to prepare them for next year. They're not going to do any kind of experimenting until they're mathmatically eliminated. After all the punishment this guy has taken, he's still got it. (11-19-2024, 03:53 PM)Clark W Griswold Wrote: It’s not gonna happen - Zac wants to win as many as he can. Self-preservation. Your right, it's not. The players are going to be talked up through the next 2 weeks and be convinced coming out of the bye that they are going to win out. As long as theirs a snowballs chance, unnecessary risks are going to be taken. Zac has proven he's capable of letting his ego take priority over the better of the team, or else he would have given up play calling and made remarkable strides to continue to improve this squad. But, he hasn't. If it's a FO thing, then he needs to take the players stance and start speaking up. This is his team, and he's pissing it away. Too many fines and suspensions associated with testosterone overload in this day and age.. Or just growing up playing hockey and watching baseball ![]() RE: Time to clear the benches - TJ528 - 11-21-2024 I personally think once they are eliminated from playoff contention (likely against the Steelers), then it's time to pull Joe and play some younger guys on the OL and DL. See what you have for 2025. There's no reason to keep pushing for wins because all your doing is pushing yourself out of a better draft pick. This team needs some high end draft picks. Also, I truly believe starting on December 1st, you'll start seeing Paycor as a home stadium for the visiting team. No sense in sitting in the cold watching a team that's not going to win, so might as well try and recoup some $$$ spent on tickets this season. I truly don't believe they're as far away as people think they are. The team needs help shoring up the inside offensive line. They need to re-sign Giseki, because no one knows how long it'll be before All is back. Top pick I believe is drafting to replace Tee Higgins. Jermaine Burton hasn't shown he can replace Tee above the shoulders. You need a guy who can come in and start day 1. Jermaine may have the athletic ability but does not have the mental make up of a starter currently. Defensive we need to cut Sam Hubbard and Rankins and bringing in help on the DL that can help penetrate the OL and help Trey. I also think you need to find a quality starter at safety. Personally, I didnt think it'd be that hard to find a replacement for Jessie Bates, but you live and learn. The Bengals need to get this right and they know it. They have a lot on the line over the next 12-24 months. Negotiations with the city/county for stadium renovations. Keeping fans in the seats because when they start losing fans lose interest and so do sponsors. Lastly, you want to appease your 3 biggest starts, Burrow, Chase, and Hendrickson. Get the latter 2 signed to large deals and keep the peace in the locker room. |
