I understand this is a draft thread, but can we count on any of these guys that have been mentioned at DT being a plug and play and replacing Hill (not signed) and or Rankins if we cut him? Or do you see them as potential starters in 2 to 3 years? There's always rookie inconsistency but this is a great defensive tackle class. CJ West is an excellent example I said he's a late day 2 guy in this class but I wouldn't bat an eye about him starting week one. RE: Scouting the All-Star Games - Synric - 01-28-2025 Rosters and Measurements added. Are you saying if we don't resign Hill, West can replace him and be better or at a minimum as good. If that is the case, we would be crazy to pay Hill 12 or 13 million a year when we can play a rookie drafted in round 3 less than 2 million a year. Are you also saying West is better than McKinley and Jenkins? I have concerns because we need to get much better on the DL and I am not confident a rookie drafted in round 3 will be an upgrade on our DL. Our DL was horrible in 2024. We need it to become a strength versus a weakness. I would say there's a decent chance. I'm on the CJ West train now. High floor players like West usually have smoother transitions. Edit: The DTs with first round grades might have rough edges year one week one but you can see where they can offset that with impact splash plays too. RE: Scouting the All-Star Games - Synric - 01-28-2025 I'll post a YouTube Video of the 1 on 1s as they become available but Joe Goodberry clipped the first National Practice already on Twitter.
RE: Scouting the All-Star Games - Jpoore - 01-28-2025 Mike green had a really good day today. I could see us doubling up again + signing a mid-tier FA to join Jackson & Jenkins. There is not a guy worth $15-$20 mil in FA at DT IMHO. Some guys who are solid BJ Hill types. Some guys who are good situational pass rushers but poor vs the run. Not a real frontline stud. Same story at DE, beyond Mack (who likely stays in LA) and maybe Sweat (who likely stays in Philly). RE: Scouting the All-Star Games - Synric - 01-29-2025 Duke Tobin is paying attention to the trenches in Mobile.
RE: Scouting the All-Star Games - Luvnit2 - 01-29-2025 Good to see Tobin watching DT drills. I would hope both Golden and Montgomery are also there and evaluating. Same for OL coach Peters there and evaluating OL. RE: Scouting the All-Star Games - Synric - 01-29-2025 Wyatt Milum playing himself into day 3 at rh Senior Bowl. Grey Zabel might win practice week MVP. RE: Scouting the All-Star Games - coachmcneil71 - 01-29-2025 Emory Jones LSU RT/G is standing out. RE: Scouting the All-Star Games - Synric - 01-29-2025 Sacramento State OL Jackson Slater is having a week. He is handling these good interior rushers like Walter Nolen and TJ Sanders. Iowa's Yahya Black beat him with a decent speed move to his outside shoulder and he's struggling with leverage. RE: Scouting the All-Star Games - Luvnit2 - 01-30-2025 I like RJ Harvey CFU running back. He could replace Moss (save some cap and likely available in round 4. He breaks tackles, has quickness and power on the goal line. He is not huge, but he is compact. I like him a lot and he is great out of the backfield as well over 500 receiving yards this year and 20 total TD's RE: Scouting the All-Star Games - bfine32 - 01-31-2025 I haven't been able to watch practices due to traveling, but some things I'm reading: The Akron DT is looking good The UCLA Edge is looking good The LSU TE is looking good The Marshall Edge is looking great |
