I saw it up close with Jarrett Bush in Green Bay. But, eventually, their time comes (see Bush being allowed to walk this offseason). Peerman will turn 29 in October, so he's not "old" and he knows the offense and can get the job done on ST. The thing about that special unit is discipline and the ability to tackle. Now, those guys are meant to be expendable in that you can keep a young guy who might be amazing, but if you totally go that route you end up paying the price on Sundays. With Hewitt being valuable at the H-Back spot, you only really can carry four runningbacks. So now we're talking about James Wilder, Rex Burkhead, Terrell Watson and Peerman for two spots. To me, Wilder and/or Watson would have to be really amazing in the preseason to supplant Burkhead and Peerman. Thanks for the links Jim. Good reads, especially the one on Williams. I listened to the periscope broadcast. Pretty cool, look forward to the next one. Thanks again for taking time out of your schedule to do this. I'm sure I can speak for every member of this board, when I say it's much appreciated!! RE: Ask Jim Owczarski - bengalfan74 - 06-24-2015 Thanks Jim ! Keep it coming we love hearing from ya. RE: Ask Jim Owczarski - Mike M (the other one) - 06-25-2015 Thanks for your insight. I know it's a bit early for any true diagnosis on the DL, but Hunt going down isn't a good thing, and I love that Clarke put on 20 pounds and doesn't appear to have lost a step and definitely looking forward to seeing how the Defense as Whole shakes out. I see the most possible changes to the starters happening on that side of the field vs the Offense being pretty much set in stone. I also like Watson and I think he will surprise people (at least I hope so), but will probably end up on the PS while Peerman plays out the year on ST. RE: Ask Jim Owczarski - djs7685 - 06-25-2015 It's really nice to see someone involved with the team that seems to look at all of this with an extremely objective eye, and I'm excited to see him actually posting here with all of this information. Hopefully everybody can keep up with the good questions and keep this going throughout the offseason. This is really great, thanks again Jim! In open OTAs, I saw him make a couple of bad underthrows. Then, he hits the blazing Mario Alford, in stride, perfectly, deep down the sideline. He also makes all the throws out to the sideline. What does that say to me? He can get the ball wherever, it's just 'can he get it wherever all the time?' No one is perfect, not every throw will be perfect, but to me it's a matter of working on that consistency. I wish this could be made into a poster and stickied at the top of the page. Whenever I try to tell people that Dalton has enough arm strength I am vilified and accused of being a blind Dalton homer. The fact is that I often criticize dalton for his lack of consistency. But when people claim that it is impossible for him to be good i defend him RE: Ask Jim Owczarski - Mike M (the other one) - 06-26-2015 As another question, what is/are the Bengals medical staff doing to address the fact that since 2012 the Bengals have had the most concussions (26) in the league? I can't find an original link that I found yesterday, so I'm stuck using this one. http://footballpros.com/showthread.php/15679-Bengals-Lead-The-League-In-Concussions-since-2012 RE: Ask Jim Owczarski - maanster - 06-26-2015 jim, are the bengals training facilities on par with green bays? A good example of Dalton's abilities is the NO game last year. He really threw some dimes on long and intermediate throws in that game. He's actually had lots of games like that through his career. It's just that he can look like a totally different QB from week to week. Inconsistent mechanics is the problem, imo. It also seems like he panics when things don't go according to plan. As in when receivers aren't getting open, or when he's pressured.
