I do find it mildly amusing when multi millionaire athletes pledge to ‘keep the team together’. Only as long as it doesn’t come out of their pockets of course. Ah, cool Wanga. It is kind of amusing alright. I know we have to keep Burrow happy, but at what cost? We have to upgrade the trenches more than pay Tee more than he is worth right when we have to pay Ja'Marr 40 mil per year... (03-04-2025, 05:45 PM)WeezyBengal Wrote: That's kind of my point. He fired his agent for no reason. His last agent would have probably gotten him more money in free agency when he inevitably hits the market. Eh, we have no idea if he would of or wouldn't gotten him more money. Doesn't sound like Tee thought he would otherwise he wouldn't of fired him in the first place. I know Tee doesn't sound happy about the tag, but it allows the Bengals to extend him on a longer deal and at the same time not get screwed over by letting him go for nothing. And don't say comp picks, comp picks mean nothing as we have never hit on a comp pick that I can remember... I know Trey hasn't shown any fall off yet, but he could this year right after an extension. Would rather this happen to another team lol (03-04-2025, 05:52 PM)Ell Prez Wrote: Tagging Tee is part of the Bengals leverage. They can negotiate saying, fine if you don’t like the offer you can play on the tag again. The only thing this proved to me was the Bengals truly want to keep tee. Not that I didn’t ever think they didn’t but I believe the plan all along was to tag and then work on a long term deal. Exactly what I believe whether it is what I would want to do or not. It is what they are doing, no point in arguing with it. Because even at 32 years old Adams produces more than Higgins. Adams has had back to back 1000 yard seasons while Tee has spent a lot of time watching games on the sideline. I will take a 32 year old that is producing every year vs a 26 year old guy that cant stay healthy RE: Tee’s market price (Update: 3 March 25, Tee has been tagged again) - J24 - 03-04-2025 (03-04-2025, 09:57 PM)007BengalsFan Wrote: Because even at 32 years old Adams produces more than Higgins. Signing a 32 year old player over a 26 year old player is not a smart move. What? In the three years since he left Green Bay, Adams has put up 3723 yards with 30 TDs. In that same time period the last 3 years, Tee has put up 2596 yards with 22 TDs. You would need to compare Adams since he left vs Adams when he was in GB. 321 - 3,924 - 34 (GB 2019-2021) 288 - 3,723 - 30 (LV and NYJ 2022-2024) One caveat is he has played in a handful of more games, the last 3 years v the previous three. But he is also not 26-28, and these were age 29-32 years. Drop off is normal, but he is still a dang good football player. If you could bring Adams in for 2 years, while concurrently flipping Higgins for players/assets at a potentially discounted contract… I could believe that as a cake and eat it too scenario. If you can’t get value for Tee, I’ll take tee over Adams in a vacuum. RE: Tee’s market price (Update: 3 March 25, Tee has been tagged again) - Go Cards - 03-05-2025 AJ Green drew double teams every single play. Chase draws the double teams away from Tee. Both are amongst the Bengals WR greats but AJ is definitely above Tee on the list imho. |
