The FO has 2 jobs.
1. Putting together a competitive roster an coaching staff.
2. Putting the roster together financially to meet the needs of the cash flow and profit targets.

Most fans want to ignore number 2 or assume the Bengals are the only team with this issue. Yet, we have seen others like the Super Bowl winning Chiefs have a start player sit out camp and week 1 go onto win the Super Bowl.

This year we have 3 teams including us who yet to sign their 1st round pick, we have teams that have not signed non first round picks yet. Watt, Ramsey, J, Smith, McClauren and others missed manadory camps. I would argue most teams did not have 3 stars in the same year attempting to get deals done like happened to us in 2024 with Tee, Jamar and also Trey asked for a new deal.

So yes on the surface it appears the Bengals FO may be the issue and no doubt they are a huge part, but the 3 players and their agents also play a huge part, many are willing to give the latter a free pass and throw their frustartions 100% on the FO in my opinion.

Yes, I know about everybody doesn't like relying on a rookie ever, but he could be a good one right off the bat and at the very least be
better than Volson. Not a high bar so he doesn't have a ton of pressure on him similar to Mims last season who did well as a rookie.

You don't have to have facts to back up an opinion or it wouldn't be an opinion it would be a fact. Indisputable, and nondebatable.

Agreed!!!

Opinions are subjective perspectives and beliefs which can be based on feelings, personal preferences or interpretation of facts - unlike a theory, which is based on repeatedly confirmed body of evidence (prospectively and/or retrospectively).

I have followed some of the recent discussions around Bengals FO on this board, and I respect both perspectives. Interestingly, I feel that at some level, both opinions intersect in terms of their intent - specifically; both want maximum amount of talent on our Team.

I am only stating my perspective on the subject of opinion, because I don't believe that we want other members on this board being hesitant about expressing opinions, for the fear of their opinion being viewed as less than equal to another.

the fact we have missed playoffs back to back seasons the slack front office has earned has been squandered and wasted

Almost every team in the NFL has a player or two issue at this time of the year...its not a bengals thing

Burrow was injured the year before last and as he said was not 100% last year..we were without 2 starting left tackles and numerous defensive players last year...higgins had a season long injury ..he was not 100%...facts

Theory fact or opinion - talk about whatever you wish.  My main point was to point out the "grey" about opinions even when using "facts".

Really last year we should have made the playoffs the year before almost did with major injuries just like SF missed this year. Injuries matter.

Injuries derailed ‘23 but ‘24 no excuses. But ‘23 Bengals & ‘24 SF strikingly similar. It happens.

Bengals had their starting quarterback not 100%...their two starting tackles out...higgins not 100% ...and a boatload of defensive players injured...its just not the number of injuries..its whom is injured

So let me get this straight...burrow ..as he conveyed was not 100% the first half of the season...we lost not one ..but two starting offensive tackles...higgins was injured the majority of the season.. our starting RB was on IR..not to mention a boatload of defensive players..you simply are incorrect

Really missing the ability to give negative rep these days.

Not in ‘24  we lost like 7 one score games. We should have made the playoffs

My friend rfaulk, can you imagine that ability in the hands of someone like Fred Toast?

Besides, I can't picture you giving anyone a negative rep.

I frame it as maximizing both team success and revenue for ownership. Maximizing team success has the culminating season objective of winning the Super Bowl which goes beyond just putting together a competitive roster and staff.

We lost 7 one score games in 2010 and we were a mere few "lucky" bounces away from having to watch Tua attempt to resurrect our franchise.  I suppose we're also 3 plays away from having 3 SB trophies instead of 0.

Almost to the point where I hope they just toss Shemar back in the pond.

And we’re still nowhere with Trey. Or a decent FA OL.

Love my bungles

I'm pretty sure he had that ability at one point. I know they did it here for a short time and you could do it on the mothership, but you're right. I doubt i would.

RE: Is Shemar holding out? - Nicomo Cosca - 06-22-2025

Travis Hunter signed his deal today. I think it’s down to just Stewart and Denver’s pick that are still unsigned out of the 1st rounders.
