Release Trae Waynes. I’d like to see Ogunjobi re-signed if he is healthy. I have been really surprised by Apple. IMO, he is too inexperienced and more developmental for me to draft in the first round. I like OG Zion Johnson Boston College. I also like OT Sean Rhyan UCLA. I’ve seen the mock draft sites suggest he should move to OG in the NFL. He played well against both Oregon’s Thibodeaux and USC’s Jackson that I think he can play RT in the NFL. Same for UK’s Kinnard. An OT who I think would be good at OG for the Bengals is Tulsa’s Tyler Smith, but 2nd or 3rd round. I see his name popping up, and I think he's athletic enough to fit the scheme, but I do think he'll fit better in a scheme that runs more than passes. I'm not confident he's good to go yet from a pass blocking standpoint. Maybe I haven't done enough research on him though. RE: Bengals Pick End of Round - NUGDUKWE - 02-04-2022 Let's say we are able to sign our own free agents most and can get an interior Olineman. Would you be willing to ttade out of the first if the price is right? Also curious what we would realistically get for trading out of the 1st? Just think if we're going Oline then we might be stuck reaching for a guy that would be available in the 2nd. Could also use the extra picks to move up at some point on day two. I guess it would only be worth it if we could end up with 4 day 2 picks over 3 picks in day 1 and 2. KC traded their 1st, 3rd, 4th, and 2022 5th to Baltimore for their 2nd (58), 2022 6th, and OT Orlando Brown, Jr. So KC had Brown, Jr., two 2nd round picks, 5th, 6th, and 7th. Titians traded the 2022 #58 to Atlanta. Looking at Atlanta's roster RG Chris Lindstrom could be considered equivalent trade value to Orlando Brown, Jr. Although probably less because he is a G and not a T. During a mock draft on Pro Football Network I got this: 58. OT Sean Rhyan UCLA; some think he is a OG in the NFL, I think he can succeed at RT 63. CB Kyler Gordon Washington; I would release Waynes so they're going to need at least one CB 173. CB Marcus Jones Houston; some consider him the best return specialist in this draft, adds depth at a position of value 210. TE Chigoziem Okonkwo Maryland 251 WR Reggie Roberson SMU Some of the names on the board when I picked: Muma, Kinnard, A. Lucas, M. Sanders, Wyatt, Ebiketie, Q. Walker. Some of the names I missed out on by trading back from 31: J. Johnson, Petit-Fere, Z. Johnson, C. Harris. You can always argue the players I picked and substitute someone you like more, but I'd probably make a trade like that. I've always enjoyed the draft but have never devoted to much time in players and draft scenarios but I'll probably try and do a little more. I was thinking only about picks but we may need to do something a little more creative like trading for a player. I'm thinking the most likely scenario is a team with an earlier pick in the 2nd that wants a QB that maybe they didn't want to spend an early 1st on. So maybe one would be willing to give up a good olineman for the ability to draft the right QB. I'll have to do more research on actual players but as far as positions. But if we can take care of the Oline in free agency, in the 1st or with trading our 1st. Then I'd like to get a LB, DT/DE and like you said if we let Waynes go get a CB. I would also like to use one of our 4th rd picks on another WR. Thanks for the info. I know next to nothing about the Draft still as we are going to the Superbowl first. If Rhyan played well against Thibodeaux and Jackson he is my leading candidate for OL with our first pick besides one of the Corners. I know Sauce will be gone, but there are some damn good Corners in this Draft early. The one thing I know about this Draft at this point. Corners are great investments early in the Draft same as OL now a days. My ideal situation would probably be that we keep our own free agents and address the OL in free agency as well with at least 1 player. Then I think you could go best player available. If a really good OL falls snag him or a DT/DE then add to a strong group. If we let Waynes go and keep Apple then we could still take a corner if the right one is there in the 1st. I just think more of a ballhawk corner might be one thing this team is missing. Not sure if Elam from Florida fits that mold? Also I really like the idea of taking a LB in rd 2. A lot of teams have seemed to have had some success taking rd 2 LB's ( I'm thinking Bolton with KC and HOK or whatever his name is with the Browns). So a very limited sample size versus those two elite players. One of the reasons why the draft is difficult. Unfortunately, Rhyan isn't at the Senior Bowl. I think he is a Junior. So it will be interesting seeing Rhyan at the combine to see how full of shit the NFL Network draft analyst think I am. RE: Bengals Pick End of Round - Fan_in_Kettering - 02-04-2022 We’re going to pick 31st or 32d in the Draft. This is awesome! Cool, it is still like crazy early with us not even playing our last game yet lol Such a great feeling that I never remember feeling. Pretty crazy, lets win the Superbowl and think about this lol (02-07-2022, 03:18 PM)Isaac Curtis: The Real #85 Wrote: Latest ESPN mock, 2 rounds, has us taking 2 guys who performed well at the Senior Bowl/Shrine Game. This sounds really good to me right now. I actually watched Zion in a game and was impressed. I like another Corner with hands being a former WR, has size to boot. |
