The Raiders defensive line is impressive and Crosby, in particular, is awesome. That said, in a game where Crosby was pretty dominant, Herbert & the Chargers still put up 32 points and 383 passing yards in a game the Raiders needed 70 minutes to win. Sure, they probably don't even win that game without Crosby's performance, but they now have to face the quarterback who, despite having a bottom third offensive line and is routinely pressured, is (at least by some metrics) the best in the league when feeling that pressure. Nothing is guaranteed, but this game is winnable even with a strong performance by Vegas' outstanding defensive ends.

RE: Crosby and Ngakoue context - Shake n Blake - 01-14-2022

Good points. People are assuming that the reason we struggled offensively in that game is the Raiders' pass rush, but the real problem was that this is when teams started bracketing coverage at Chase, and we hadn't adjusted yet.

The Raiders game was smack dab in the middle of a 5 game stretch where Joey B only had 6 TDs to 6 INTs with an 84.9 passer rating. We struggled against everyone...not just the Raiders.

We started moving Chase around and in the 4 games after that, Burrow had 11 TDs to 0 picks with a 134.9 passer rating.

This is why I predicted a 37-17 win in the prediction thread. It's not that I don't respect the Raiders. It's more that I know our team is humming now, and it wasn't humming when we faced them last time. They were limiting themselves by making Chase easier to cover.

Plus, we all know how Joe B has become healthier and better as the season progressed.

Plus, our starters are rested.

Plus, we probably have the best 3 WR tandems in the league.

Plus, Joe Mixon, who scored 2 TDs and had 125 yards the last meeting.

Plus, Trey Hendrickson is a wrecking crew, too.

Plus, we're playing at home.

Mercy......I feel better about this game than I did the first one.

Just need our RT to play serviceable and we win this game running away as long as we don't turn the ball over.

The only advantage the Raiders have is Crosby against Prince. That is why we have to take note.

We ran the ball all over them the last time we played the Raiders as you note and it was on a shit field where Mixon was
slipping all over the place. Hendrickson and company also were pressuring Carr all game and hitting him from his blindside.

We just need to execute.

1) Burrow was still not really moving around and navigating the pocket and/or running. He has since gotten the rest of the way back to his pre-injury pocket elusiveness and mobility.

2) The offense is using Chase more creatively now - he now lines up in different spots and sometimes is the slot and sometimes outside among other things.

3) Burrow is starting to use outlet receivers and quick throws more when he just doesn't see the big play there.

Remember the Raiders line has been seen before, and indeed this whole season for the Bengals has been a who's who of the top pass rushers in the league. Which leads to Burrow being unflappable. For pressure to really affect a QB they have to feel it and it needs to affect their game and their internal clock - so far Burrow shows neither effect which is a big reason he is torching defenses regardless of their pressure.

Burrow is a different player right now no doubt and using Chase in the Slot is nearly impossible to stop.

Just keep up what we were doing in the Chiefs game except we need to run it more as we already shown we can run it on these
guys. Our field vs the Vegas field and us also being in a colder climate is a crazy advantage for us, take advantage of it.
