Of course I'd like the trade, but how do the Vikings justify dealing their only NT on the roster from what I can see? Seattle has depth, not many teams do. If line a NT but it has to make sense for them, even if the Vikes want to add picks and move up for a QB. So I don't think trading would hurt them that much. There is a good chance a few of those guys on the second list make it to 27. In the mock drafts I've done I occasionally get Lathom, Fashana, or Bowers falling to 27. Mims and Fautanu make it there a decent amount. Powers Johnson and Barton make it there a decent amount. Newton too. I'd feel much better taking Bowers at 27 than 18 in terms of value because you improved your 2nd round pick and added a 3rd or 4th. But hey, the Bengals tried to do it ten years ago and missed out on Ragnow so you never know. I think the issue there was they were too narrow-minded in their focus (reaching for Price) and they should have traded down further if that was their intent. If they stand pat at 18 and get a good player I wont complain. I'd prefer oline, DT, or corner. I'd certainly like one of the top 3 wideouts but that wont happen unless theres a run on OT and Edge and QB. But WR is such a high value position that it's very doubtful. I'm leary of pick 49. I think the player you take there isn't much different from a player you take in the 3rd. Did he have a healthy Higgns and a healthy Chase in all of his starts? If not, numbers are more impressive. If Seattle is that deep and in cap hell, maybe best to wait and let them cut him versus a trade. |
