I don't know if he has peaked but it seems he has spent a fair amount of time peeking at his bank account. Tongue Ninja

Are they? If we are using stats to verify his level of play I would say it's a factor.

This is a straight up lie. The last 5 games before Burrow got hurt last season Chase was averaging 107 yards , 13 YPC, 69% reception, and had 5 TDs

Oh, you mean like this?

141, 73, 192, 80, 100, 41, 124, 12, 81, 149

10 straight games. 993 yards. 99.3 per game. 5 100+ yd games.

You have to go aaaaaalllllllllllll the way back to last year to see this.

With 73, 80, 12, 81, 41 in here I don't think you shot down their point. That isn't an elite stretch.

But he did have 4 elite games out of those 10....

70+ yards in a game is quite effective, though. For reference, there were only 16 receivers in the league to average more than 70 yards in a game. Only 11 to average more than 80. Having those types of games in there along with multiple 100+ is an elite stretch IMO. If it's not elite, then it is very very good and we are bordering on semantics here.

This is not top 5 WR numbers and he has looked pedestrian in route running our first 2 games.

I think it has to do more with our lack of depth at the position. Teams are willing to risk a WR3-4-5 getting the pass that they are #1. When Tee comes back, it will take some pressure off Chase. Not much, but will be enough.

Check the stats. Elite WRs average around 95-100 yds/g. Chase was putting up 99 with a 12 yrd game included in there.

Burrow intended air yards per attempt...
2020: 8.5
2021: 8.1
2022: 6.8
2023: 6.3
2024: 6.0

By the end of his career with Zac at this rate, Burrow will be throwing passes exclusively behind the LoS.

I gotta say, if we turn Burrow into Blame Gabbert this organization is gonna look pretty silly.

Reality is Joe Mixon balled out against the worst rushing defense in the NFL that is allowing 237 rushing yards PER GAME.

Lets see how the rest of the non-Colts season goes for him.

Semantics all you want but I'm not going to include games with 12 yards and 41 yards in a stretch of elite numbers.

A straight up lie is your stats, last 6 games with Burrow as QB outside of Ravens game where he got hurt, Chase has 74 avg and 2 tds,

Even Justin Jefferson has had 11 games where he was held under 41 yards, including multiple in the teens.

You must have misunderstood him. He said the last 5 games before Burrow got hurt. His numbers are right yours are wrong.

OK? That's not what was being discussed.

For instance, last year, CeeDee Lamb had a four-game stretch of 151, 191, 158, and 117. I'd call that a four-game stretch of elite numbers.

His next four games were 49, 36, 53, and 143. Over those eight weeks, he averaged 112 yards per game, but I wouldn't call it an eight-game stretch of "putting elite numbers together."

So the 9 games last year before Burrow got hurt Chase averaged 91.2 yds per game. Now perhaps it seems like cherry picking but if you simply remove the 1st two game in which Burrow was immobile and in the 1st one was a decent rain he averaged 107.2 yds per game over the last 7 games. So is 5yd difference in average where the elite numbers line lies?

I'm just not really sure what we are arguing here. Is this about if he was wrong to hold in and the team right not to pay him? Chase is elite. Every single person that covers the Bengals says he's elite. The Chiefs double covering almost the entire game seems to point to the fact they believe he is elite.

Yeah, typo on my part. I meant to say I wouldn't call it an eight-game stretch of "putting elite numbers together."

It's almost like that if you put up elite numbers for a stretch of games, DC's focus on taking you away.  Then it falls on your teammates making plays to force them out of the constant double teams or your OC has to get creative to get the ball in the hands of his best playmaker.

If you read my original post, I based it on after a great game  on 10/8 against Arizona, since then 12 games that Chase has played ( i took out last game of year since he just got in for a small amount is) so he has scored 3 TDs in those 12 games and averaged 68 yards.  The Tds are  down , the average yards is good but again not what we expect from a guy that is looking at being the highest paid player .   With a healthy Burrow and Washington and Carolina next two games, i think we have to expect better from Chase, if not then we really are low barring production from our top tier WR

The Bengals and the coach scheme has regressed! 4 years and they still can't beat Cover 2 LOLOLOLOL

If Chase was on the Dolphins or chiefs it would be SO UNFAIR!!!!!!!!

The Bengals just dont care enough or they have too much pride to inprove things! If you are not copying you are not trying! They should be implementing and copying the schemes around the league. I would like to see Chase on another team, as much as I hate saying that, but it would prove yall wrong, easily!!!!!!!
