I know exactly what board I'm on and I'm a Bengals fan but when someone says the Steelers are pretenders I look at their record and see what they have accomplished while the Bengals are always in rebuild mode. It's just people for some reason can't take hearing the truth about teams. As I said the Bengals aren't in the Steelers class. When these Bengals collect 3 or 4 Lombardi's I'll be impressed but until then their SB trophy shelf is empty while those hated guys in black and gold have 6 out of 8 attempts. That is 75% success in the big game while these Bengals are 0-3 , 0% success. Sorry, I just have to give credit where it's due. I've gone back and forth on Zac since he's been here. Playing Dalton today has me thinking back to that first year and how terrible I think he was that year. Then I think the normal reaction is to say first year head coach and will learn and get better which we have improved. But that brings back the question of how much improvement is from Burrow compared to Zac? Every year we start slow and then improve on offense. This is due to adjustments being made but are these Burrow adjustments or Zac's? I do think Zac has good qualities and is probably underrated in some regards. But what's the bar? Certainly not among the leagues best. The defense is struggling due to lack of talent and a Lou scheme that appears to be tough to pull off properly. But what about the offense? It appears you couldn't have much more talent than we have right now. I know we can point to Higgins just getting back and last week we started to show the potential. But Washington's defense is terrible and the only reason that's not a story is because they won the game. If we don't shoot ourselves in the foot playcalling we probably score TDs on every drive and win the game. Chase had a breakout but again it takes a poor secondary he can run behind. Where are the schemed plays to get him open? Where are schemed plays to get Chase Brown the ball in space. Zac is fine if he has a squad that is oozing with so much talent the other team can't compete. I have hated the Steelers in the past and while I certainly don't like them perhaps I just don't get into the matchup as much as I did previously. Hopefully we past the stretch of brutal play we saw for years of everyone trying to hurt each other and perhaps that will be a lasting impact Burfict gave to the fan base. But I will say the Steelers have a standard that is upheld by they're FO that we just don't have. A few years back when they're defense started out trash did they do what we would've done a just ride the year out? No they went and traded a 1st for Minkah and haven't looked back since. There is a reason they don't go below .500 and it's because that's not acceptable to them. While I do think they're current QB situation is a potential tricky one in the future they were in QB hell with Pickett and they pull the trigger and get out of it very quickly. I would've enjoyed watching them suffer a few more years but all you can do is tip your hat. Unfortunately until we set that same standard or preferably higher with Burrow and Chase which I don't see happening. We will probably be in the same hell of picking in the 20 range and missing on more draft picks than we hit. Everyone makes fun of Kliffie but I know for 1000% fact that both McVay & Taylor think he’s a great play caller. RE: What would it take to get Zac Taylor fired? - Housh - 09-29-2024 I’d have to believe this game didn’t make him look good to Mike Brown Dude got up and turned ***** so bad we didn’t score again RE: What would it take to get Zac Taylor fired? - Brownshoe - 10-06-2024 Zac Taylor is a bum. I've been saying it for years. RE: What would it take to get Zac Taylor fired? - jj22 - 10-06-2024 This season would do it for any other HC. RE: What would it take to get Zac Taylor fired? - Joelist - 10-06-2024 How about this game? He literally bad coached us into a loss from an easy win. RE: What would it take to get Zac Taylor fired? - TheLeonardLeap - 10-06-2024 This should be more than enough. There is not one single reason Taylor and staff should be employed when they leave the stadium today. The SB run was simply in spite of Zac, not because of Zac. RE: What would it take to get Zac Taylor fired? - Browns Town Bengal - 10-06-2024 An act of god RE: What would it take to get Zac Taylor fired? - TheCincinnatiKid - 10-06-2024 Mike Brown to have a brain transplant. Zac could take a Burrow/Chase/Higgins led team to 1-16 and keep his job for next year. The pick was pretty bad, but Burrow was virtually flawless outside of that, and the underthrow in the 2nd quarter. An INT is obviously a huge mistake to make, but when your QB doesn't have the 'luxury' of being able to make TWO bad throws in the ENTIRE game.... this defence is beyond shameful. Should be giving their paychecks to charity immediately after the game. RE: What would it take to get Zac Taylor fired? - Mickeypoo - 10-06-2024 The only thing that gets Taylor fired is the Browns family selling the team to an actual competent owner who puts winning first. I think it's three stooges of the front office (who let our two best Defensive players go and haven't drafted a DT worth a damn since Geno Atkins) are the problem. Keep making Zac the issue and keep ignoring the real problems with the Front Office. This isn’t the first time he’s played not to lose. He’s not much better than Mark Stoops. |
