We need to throw the screens to the rb’s and te. Chargers defense will be all over those wr screens.

Chargers have benefited from an absolute dog shit schedule. Wins against the Panthers, Raiders, Broncos, Saints, Browns Titans.

I think this will be another shootout and close game. I think the Bengals finally close a game out, though.

Weezy, do you have the Bengals team grade?  Maybe you posted it somewhere, but I didn't see it.  Just curious....

Please, please, PLEASE football gods, let the Bengals win this one. If for anything, just to make the Harbaugh Family Thanksgiving get-together a bit more spicy. I want John and Jim fist fighting before the pumpkin pie is served.

I don't like LA and New York having 2 teams each in the NFL, bogus. Whatever

The Friday word is that Higgins might play on Sunday Night Football for Bengals.   Burrow having both Chase and Higgins improves Bengals chances of winning greatly against Chargers giving up the fewest points in NFL.  Chase AND Higgins for Burrow can beat a good defense.  I now like Bengals chances to WIN and climb to 5-6 before the bye week, with 6 games left to try to get to 6-6 and maybe 10 or 11 wins on the regular season. Because you can't double team Chase and double team Higgins, one of them has to be in single coverage, and that's where Burrow will beat them.

Another key to the game is Bengals Defense can't just stink Sunday Night.  Chargers have a top notch Defense, and so Bengals better bring some Defense to the game also.

Chargers are great at sacking QB's and Burrow gets hit on every play.  However with Chase and Higgins, if Burrow can read the blitz coming and hit the open gaps the blitz creates.  Burrow even back to LSU days, his strongest area is being able to see the whole field and hit the open man like basketball. Burrow is also great in a Hurry Up Offense, but Bengals don't get the plays in fast enough for Burrow to wear out Defenses as he has the ability to.  The Bengals could catch Defenses with too many players on the field penalty a lot, but Bengals coaches are slow getting the plays in, it's not Burrow's fault on that.

I think schedule is in their favor leading to last game but this team has not shown the ability to put games together, pretty simple though we lose to Chargers, time to start thinking of how to rebuild this roster.. since we will be on life support with a lose.

Yeah. They have to get the W tomorrow and show they can beat a good team, then rest up and get Pitt before the 'easier' games start to come.

Ah . . . I think that you need to re-read the flow of that conversation . . . Nicomo was referring to my post while talking to Essex. I was pointing out how the Chargers just put 27 an the Titans stingy defense, then he commented something about the Ravens, That's when Nicomo corrected him . . . again. To me, your post made it look like I'm the Chargers fan.

No sir. Not at all. I like to give Essex shit because he didn't want the Bengals to draft Burrow. He didn't like his attitude and thought they should go with Herbert.

EDIT: I just went back and read the exchange. Yep, i screwed that one up.

Bengals win by 7.

Hilton will mitigate McConky. Probably around 4-5 catches for 40 yards.
Bengals are the third best team at stopping deep passes (surprisingly). Chargers have been living and dying by the deep pass.
While Herbert can run, he isn’t a true dual threat QB like most QBs bengals have faced this far.
I believe bengals hold LAC running backs to under 80 yards on the ground. They don’t have Derrick Henry, who we contained.

Bengals can’t put the ball on the ground or have turnovers.

This is a coming out party of sorts.

I watched the Chargers game last week, and I don't remember any of their WRs

CINCINNATI BENGALS @ LOS ANGELES CHARGERS

Justin Herbert has been PFF’s top-graded passer since Week 7, and he has been especially strong on deep passes in that time frame, leading the league with 13 completions, 449 pass yards and four touchdowns on those 20-plus-yard throws. The Bengals have not given up deep completions easily, however, allowing the third-lowest completion rate on deep passes at 26%.

Joe Burrow has been excellent on third downs, converting 48% of his dropbacks for a first down or touchdown, a mark that trails only Patrick Mahomes among qualifying quarterbacks. However, the Chargers defense has been stout against the pass on third downs, with a 30% conversion rate allowed that ranks fifth-best.

RE: Bengals at Chargers Sunday Night Football - kevin - 11-17-2024

Burrow has been trying to do something he did at LSU. As soon as play is over, he is taking the snap, as soon as that play is over, he is taking the snap. Defensive players would be bent over catching their breath. Defensive Players walking on and off the field as Burrow runs to the line and takes the snap, and a free pass play with too many D players on the field. Burrow has been trying to do this, but he has to yell at officials stopping the clock to help the D or yell at coaches not sending plays in fast enough. One of these days they are going to let Burrow be like Peyton Manning or Boomer Esiason and make it so Defenses can't get players on and off the field, and that's where Burrow will burn them play after play like at LSU.

I would like to see some of that tonight. Let Burrow speed the snaps up and catch Chargers in the wrong Defenses. Burrow at LSU was great at that, defenses couldn't go as fast as Burrow was going. When Burrow is going fast and added to his ability to see the whole field and get rid of the ball quick to the open man, there is no defense for Burrow when he is on his game.
