The question of weather to play Murphy more or less is a tough one to answer. He is pretty good at defeating the block, but he seems so slow in pursuit. So unless the play is coming his direction or the QB gets flushed right to him, I don't see him making a lot of plays. This is a touch befuddling as Murphy is probably the most athletic End we have by far... I know that his draft and combine profile had him at an 81 (8th among DEs) for athleticism, but I also have to think that there is a reason that the bench press was the only drill that he did at the combine. I don't know if it's the extra bulk he added that is slowing him down, or what, but once he gets past the blocker it looks like his boots are full of sand. RE: Is Zac Taylor really on the hot seat? - jj22 - 11-13-2024 Would yall be willing (like we have a say!) to keep Lou and just fire all of his assistants? RE: Is Zac Taylor really on the hot seat? - RunKijanaRun - 11-13-2024 Lac’s jeans should be engulfed in flames. He should already be gone. There’s only one way he’s terminated - Burrow’s request/demand. And I think Joe’s had it with him. He was a 53-year-old first time DC when he signed with us, and he was our 6th choice. He has proceeded to have a below average defense in 5 of his 6 years here. I just don't think Lou is all that good. Even if I did want to keep him though, I wouldn't if we're clearing out all the assistants. You're not going to get good assistants to come here if they think the DC is only a bad year away from being fired, which is what firing all his assistants would signal. Shoot according to some people familiar with Joe’s family means Zac gonna be here forever then. I know he worked his ass off in the Offseason and was much bigger this year. |
