True. 3rd straight.

Sucks we didn't get Perine, and that he went to the Chiefs.

Glad we got help on the dline though.

RE: Cuts worth a look - BoomerFan - 08-29-2024

Well I hope everyone was right about Perine not being that good. Hopefully Denver cut him because he's lost a step and not because they're deep at RB.

I didn't think he looked as good with the Broncos as us honestly, they could be right. I have to watch a lot of Broncos games where I am at.

I actually like Milton the RB we got on the PS. He was damn good in college.

We've got a thread asking who's going to be our power back? I was reading Milton's draft profile and he seems like a great candidate to develop into that role. Other than a lack of top end speed, the other major negative said that he'll need to work on his hands a lot, in order to become a good blocker at the NFL level.

Yes, needs to work on his hands when blocking but Zack Moss is really good at this and could help him out.

Kendall Milton could be the power back we need you could be right Sunset. He was no punk at Georgia and he fits with Mims now here.

His lack of top end speed was the reason he went undrafted but we don't need a speedster to pick up the tough yards, we need a tough sumbitch.

Yes, im very intrigued with this guy
fills a major need @ RB IMO and Corey Dillon did not have jets either

Yep, we need another short yardage chain mover after Zack Moss who is the only one on the roster right now.

Kendall Milton could be this for us.

I don't think you watched Corey Dillon.   You don't have a 96 yard rushing touchdown in the NFL without "jets."

Stone hands, sure.   :)

I was just going to make mention of that. If you watch the clip of that run, he's pulling away from DBs until the last 15 yards or so.

Yeah, I didn't want to criticize that part. He was a rare RB with pretty much all the abilities except Dillon wasn't a pass catcher.

But as far as a runner, he had it all including speed.

Bengals seem to find his pass protection a positive, per Hobson.
"Good pro tape in pass protection."

Absolutely.

There was a USA Today pre-draft article about the RBs coming out that year. Warrick Dunn, Tikki Barber, Antowain Smith and Dillon were listed, among others. Antowain Smith was the only one of similar size, but Dillon's 40 time was listed as sub 4.4. That was him as a 22-23 year old. If anyone remembers that article, please verify.

I recall thinking, a 6-2, 225 bruiser who can flat out fly, is not going to last beyond the first 10 picks. When Bengals picked him in the second round, I couldn't believe it.

He fell in the draft because of attitude/personality issues.

Spot on. Dillon was extremely talented and with that often comes attitude/personality issues. A dude that size running that fast is very rare.

That is why Derrick Henry was special in his prime which I hope is over. Big, fast, physical RB's like Dillon/Henry are rare that can out run Secondary's.

As much as I liked Braelon Allen in this last Draft he was just a power Back and couldn't out run many Defenders, just lay them out.

I was hoping we go after Saquon Barkley this year. Imagine what he wold have done running behind our O-line.

I would of been all on board for that myself. Just didn't expect it to happen. If we had a stud RB I don't know how you stop this Offense
if the OL plays decent.
