The best part is some people thinking having positive attitudes or negative attitudes on a MB will somehow affect the team's performance.

The team will perform whether fans are optimistic or pessimistic.

At the end of the day, this MB is an interaction with other individuals.
Fans should be able to voice their optimism or pessimism.
With that said, it should also be expected that individuals with opposing viewpoints may push back occasionally rather than always just being accepting, and that's also ok.
When you post, you are doing so knowing that you may get into a back-and-forth with some individual(s) with a different opinion.

For me personally, I don't really care if people agree with my viewpoints or not, nor do I care if someone comes at me for being pessimistic or optimistic.
Imma post if I want  Smirk

I personally believe positive vibes help more than negative, but to each their own....

And also, some on here were damn near abrasive in their attacks on the OP for having hope. Pretty sad and that is different than voicing
your own viewpoint in my opinion. Don't have to be abrasive, this season sucks most likely flushing down an MVP season for Burrow.

I need all the positivity I can get. Mellow

I don't expect folks to want to tank, but the reality is that the only reason we aren't 2-15 bad is because we sucked so hard we got to draft Burrow and Chase. We owe all we have that is good to sucking out loud.

There was a warning/suspension/ban policy when it came to directing attacks toward other individuals, I thought?

Hey, I wanted us to tank last year and we didn't with a backup QB....

I see this all the time in MMOs. No one wants to tank nor heal, just DPS.

Oh wait, you talkin about a different kinda tank...  Smirk

I thought so as well. I saw one poster got suspended but I didn't see what for. Have no idea about warnings and such.

Not a surprise that the most negative people on here love to attack the most.

I hear ya. Honestly, winning with Browning last year seemed good in a "winning culture, don't give up" sort of way. Then we came into this season with the best QB and WR in the league healthy and playing insane football with a 4th place schedule and this is the result. And bonus we are looking up at the Steelers going 8-3 with all scrapheap QBs. Weird, or it should be weird.

Methinks we've looked the gift horse right in the ass, as my old man uses to say.

I think the main reason Mike Brown and FO refuse to give up total control is after living thru what Art Modell did to Paul Brown in Cleveland. But on the other hand they would still control ownership even if they handed the keys to real football pro's and said bring me a SB or two. Are they that stubborn to see their ways just don't work with the people they have in place now upstairs for decades?

Burrow is NOT going to go anywhere else, his biggest money is on the back end of his contract. His family and friends can drive to games, and he's not a quitter. He may see losing seasons, but his goal is just like every other player's goal, the HOF. He is racking up HOF numbers right here with this team.

Speaking of, if the Bengals had drafted early enough, I really wanted JC Latham as the OT selected over Amarius Mims.

Latham has the same number of sacks and a couple fewer total pressures allowed as Mims but 20 more pass blocking snaps. 3 sacks, 23 vs 25 total pressures.
PFF also grades his overall pass blocking reps higher than Mims (74.3 vs 58.5).
Run blocking graded basically same - 55.3 Latham vs 55.8 Mims.

Taliese Fuaga is another one.
He's at slightly higher number of sacks/TPs allowed (5, 27) but nearly 40 more pass blocking reps.
Run blocking graded much better at 70.3.

We'll see how all 3 pan out, but so far they're all relatively close to each other - solid for rookies but none great.

Yes, this season has been a bigger disappointment than last year. Was fun watching last season when I thought we might lose
out and we actually made a run. I have enjoyed watching games this year, it just sucks watching us lose these close games where
we score 30+ which is inexcusable and very frustrating.

Probably right lol

Truth, get the trenches fixed and Burrow will be more than fine here for his entire career. Dude gets paid mad money to play the
game he loves and his family can drive to games like you say. Couldn't have a better QB and WR to build your team around if this
season continues to be a massive disappointment.

I liked Latham as well and would of been fine with him as the pick, same with Fuaga. Thanks for the grades. I still like Mims upside
more than either and that was why he was my guy for the future. Will be interesting seeing how they all play over the years. If Mims
got a decent RG next him I think it would help. Cappa looks washed and has given up.

I would bench Cappa and move Ford over to RG once Orlando comes back.

Quitting comes in different varieties. Some may say playing for this franchise after it is apparent winning it all would be a happy coincidence is borderline quitting on the dreams of winning a SB. Sure we were one play away, but that object is disappearing into the rearview mirror rapidly.

Do you really think Burrow thinks like that, or does he look at what the offense is capable of and just wants some defensive help? Burrow is seeking greatness. Some may say getting a ring is a symbol of that, but Jeremy Hill has a ring and never played a snap in that game. I think when it comes to elite players like Burrow, the Hall is their goal. After all, Marino never won a Super Bowl and he's thought of as one of the greats. I fully believe we will be back at the SB with Burrow leading the way. Won't be this year, but we are not as far off as it feels.

The day this board bans someone for posting positivity towards the team that the board is for is the day this board needs shut down. While I don't think we've seen anything to tell us this year will end up resulting in playoffs, I too absolutely keep positive until we're mathematically out of it.

maybe a new "Jungle Gloom" can be created so that everyone can spew negativity constantly, as that seems to be the popular thing these days.

Sounds like a hell of an idea. We only get about 18 weeks of football... a couple more if in the playoffs. I would hate to spend the entire time being miserable and spewing negativity.

It's so funny you say this, I was thinking about saying basically that too but didn't want to make a TLDR on ya'll.  haha.  But really, it's always so sad when football season is over and seems like it takes FOREVER for it to come back.  This season has been hard enough, but everywhere i look it's "fire zac" and even "carson was right" and I find myself slowly backing away from this place, r/bengals, cincyjungle, etc.   And honestly, this board and the other places I named are a huge part of what makes the season fun!  Just hasn't felt that way in a long while to me at least.

This post brings me joy. Joy to know that Bengal nation has finally woken up. Seems like everyone is on the same page, season is over. I for one, have been saying the season was done after we lost to the patriots. It wasn’t because I thought we wouldn’t make the playoffs. It was because I saw we had too many flaws to win a Super Bowl.

This off season is probably the most important off season in the Joe Burrow era. We have so many holes that it is going to take some Bengal miracles to get it right. I personally have zero faith we will do that. I believe we will make some half baked moves that get us right back to where we always are, middle of the pack, wild card fringe type of team.

There are a lot of teams that have won a SB and lost a bad game.  We have a superbowl caliber offense in my opinion.  But the defense has been downright unbelievable.

I can't imagine having zero faith and still following the team.  But then again, you are brought joy by all the negativity, so I suppose it checks out.

It's definately a SB caliber offense with an MVP level QB.

To me, the disheartening thing is both Ravens games should have been wins. We were firmly in control of the 2nd game and lost after the fumble. We played for the long FG in the 1st game and lost.

The Chargers game, we played terrible half the game, then tied it.

The Chiefs game was winnable.

And the Pats on paper should have been a win.

So IF we could have just won the games that were obvious wins, we'd have 2-3 more wins and be 6-5 or 7-4. But, this team finds ways to lose. And it's different guys. And different errors most of the time.

I think that points to coaching, but we also have a talent issue...on mainly defense.

But yeah, the team keeps shooting itself in the foot, so it makes sense logically to think...Hmmm if we just stop shooting ourselves in the foot, we'll win. But, it hasn't happened like that so far.
