What about Xavier Watts? The new DC is already familiar with his game.

1.72 unoffical 10 yardsplit too. Which was better than Armond Membou.

He didn't participate in any of the drills.

I mean as the Jessie Bates replacement. No drills? Ok. How does his game tape look?

I read something about him being stiff and not very athletic. I guess that wasn't quite correct.

I liked the idea of adding a safety with special skills before Emmanwori blew up the combine. I remember the good old days when we had a real good safety and we were going to the Super Bowl and stuff.

Seems to me if you have a good QB who can get you the lead. A good safety and secondary back there helping shut down the comeback attempt is a nice complement.

I really hope we pass on Starks. But Emmanwori has freakish talent that would be awesome to have on our team if he can put it all together.

I agree a strong safety helps a defense and team. I think both safeties will be solid NFL safeties. Starks may be the less risky pick of the two, but Emmanwori may have the highest celing of the 2.

9.98 RAS. #4 all time for guards.

Watts played in Golden's VERY heavy cover 1 man defense. He was a high level zone defender at both safety spots showing great passing concept recognition and making plays on the ball. He doesn't have Bates speed so he won't make as many plays from post safety to the sideline as Bates did and fast guys can challenge his angles to the outside.

Texas S Andrew Mukuba is alot like Jessie Bates guy flies around and just like Bates because he's everywhere his missed tackles stand out.

Ratledge's 7.38 3-cone is really impressive.

Yeah, that was probably the biggest shocker of the Combine.  Lots of people (myself included) will have to look at his tape again to see if something was missed or if he's a guy that tested better than shows on film.

After posting those numbers, he might be off the board by round 3.

No doubt. And that sucks ass.

I still don't want to see a ED or IDL in the first round again, so let's trade back, get a safety in rd 1, pick up a pick and then do Ratledge in the 2nd. *sheepish grin*
