How much would the bengals be worth if Katie just wanted to sell the whole franchise?

Over a billion.

According to Forbes---

Forbes, in its annual valuation of 32 NFL teams, estimated the Bengals' worth to be at $1.675 billion in their latest rankings, which is an increase from $1.45 billion in 2015. That's good enough for a 16-percent increase, But while the Bengals' overall value has risen, their ranking in the NFL hierarchy has not.Sep 20, 2016

Shit yeah.  And that was in 2016 so it's undoubtedly gone up.

I'd say sell the cash cow and take your couple billion and go away, Katie, but I don't know if I can root for the San Antonio Bengals.

Damn right it is. Yikes! And we get greedy when trying to put a winning product on the field?

I would sell for that kind of money. That is an insane amount of money.... to me anyways.

But I am the type of person who cashes out when I'm up 20 bucks at the casino so......

I wander what Paul brown would have said if you told him back then his team would be worth 1.5 billion

Did Paul drink?  He strikes me as a teetotaler.  I would have pictured his idea of letting his hair down on a Saturday night as sitting in a rigid, straight-back chair while wearing a tie and fedora and then turning it at 8:30.  Maybe not.  It's always the quiet ones.

What is your actual confidence level that things might be different under a Katie regime? Do you think there's better chance that she'll blaze her own path and do things differently than Mike...or do you feel it's more likely that she'll just be a continuation of the same old, same old?

Of course, this is will be pure opinion because we haven't seen her in total control yet, but as far as a gut feeling on a scale of 1-10...10 being she does things vastly different and 1 being she does things exactly the same, where are you?

0% Faith in her or anyone else in that family. Expecting anything other than the past 25 years is just wishful thinking. One would think if she had any knowledge or influence to change this team for the better some of that would have sprinkled threw onto the field by now even with MB's stubbornness.

Sad thing is this is what we’re left with. Mike Brown is among the worst owners and worst GMs in the NFL since taking the helm. 27 years of sub .500 play, no Playoff success, and building public resentment. One could argue his biggest achievement as Owner/GM was fleecing the County on the stadium.

Mike’s record of ineptitude is only rivaled by the Browns and Lions, both of which have more recent Playoff success. Mike Brown is basically Donald Sterling before Chris Paul and Blake Griffin, minus the racism and infidelity. He’s setting a VERY low bar for Katie to surmount. The fear is she’s been conditioned by Mike to be penny wise and pound foolish. We should know in 5 or 10 years...

Was asked to jump in on this re: Katie Blackburn and how little is known about her:

That is purposeful. She does not want to be out an "out-front" personality. This will likely never change. She will talk/be seen in those rare instances where it's absolutely necessary. But with Mike still acting as team president, that won't be often in the near future. I think she sat in on Dalton's extension press conference? That may be it.

Here is what I know: She is very well respected around the league, and very influential, sitting on some very important committees.
Here is a little bit on that:

The Bengals are widely regarded as among the smartest teams in the league in contract structure and retaining their Pro Bowlers at team-friendly deals that keep them from running into cap issues. That's Katie. She's been doing the big contracts for a long, long time now. If you want to know how she would impact the football team - she already is.

I can say she is more in tune with the fan base i.e. fans wanting a HOF or ROH, or even doing the 50th stuff with bringing in older players/sprucing up the stadium. She hears you.

There's some other detail about her in Paul Dehner Jr.'s family profile:

I know, I know - BUT WHAT WILL SHE BE LIKE WHEN SHE TAKES OVER?
Honestly - it's impossible to know. She has not said anything about it, and refuses to address it. Which is fair, because at this point she's not going to talk about her father in that way. No one would, to be honest.

They cry about their shrinking market but they're the ones who keep shrinking it. Imagine what winning a SB would do for the market.

Hell, how much would just hiring a GM and new HC move the needle?  People want to believe.  Give them a reason to and they'll line up to hand over their cash.

Old school, huh?  Know what they do with old schools?  They tear them down and build new and better ones.

Jim-  Any idea how much longer Mike wants to be doing his part? Is he gonna hang around until he's gone or will he step aside before and hand the reigns over to Katie?

Retains pro bowlers?? What pro bowlers did they re sign recently? I can name at least three that they didnt..I mean Pac mans team friendly deal had more to do with his image than anything..

Let's hope Dre k becomes a pro bowler so Katie can keep her rep.. lol

Yeah, I just don't envision her coming out on day one after the old man kicks off and saying 'My dad was a real schmuck and everything's gonna change right now. '
That ain't happening no matter how much certain fans want to believe it will .
