RE: Injury updates - Au165 - 10-25-2024 Every time someone mentions that we HAVE to resign Tee this is what has to be part of that discussion. He is a great WR for 12-14 games a year....but you don't get to only pay him for 12-14 games a year. But I will admit the wr situation without Tee in 2025 will be looking dire RE: Injury updates - RunKijanaRun - 10-25-2024 (10-25-2024, 04:33 PM)Frank Booth Wrote: They shouldn’t re-sign him at all. They will have to draft one early on. Their history of signing FA WR's are not very good either. Who are the FA WRs they've added in recent years? Last one I can remember is LaFell back in 2016-2017, and he was solid for the price. Prior to LaFell, we go all the way back to...T.O. (and Bryant) in 2010, Coles in 2009, right? When they have gone the FA route, it's been ok if looking for a competent WR2 aside from Antonio Bryant who never recovered from his knee injury. I'd be good if they go this route again. However, they seem to have more success drafting WRs compared to most other positions, so maybe they go WR in Rd 1/2 and use saved FA $$ toward OL/DL, as they have really struggled hitting on guys at those positions. RE: Injury updates - BengalsLUFC - 10-25-2024 Seriously though at what point will other teams be concerned about his injury history and maybe not give him the guarantee he wants? I know we are cheap, I know it’s highly unlikely but if he misses more time it might play in to our hands of keeping him. I’d sooner him be ready for Sunday and play well though ffs, the kids legs are held together by chewing gum and the power of prayer. RE: Injury updates - Nate (formerly eliminate08) - 10-25-2024 We will see if Tee's hammy comes back to haunt him this season. If it does it will have to be taken into account by any team in offering him a contract including us. But he has made me turn around my position with his play this season, he has been really good, much better than last year and might be worth 28 mil per year as long as we can keep Chase and extend Trey and BJ on D. RE: Injury updates - Truck_1_0_1_ - 10-25-2024 He's questionable, not doubtful. Nothing to do but wait and see until the inactives are posted. He's becoming the king of surprise injuries several days after games are played. RE: Injury updates - samhain - 10-25-2024 (10-25-2024, 04:33 PM)Frank Booth Wrote: They shouldn’t re-sign him at all. But I will admit the wr situation without Tee in 2025 will be looking dire I'd trust them to draft a round 1 replacement. Unfortunately, the needs on defense might actually outweigh wr2. Also, strictly to jinx it, I'm gonna make a derogatory comment about the Burton pick. He's been a turd to the surprise of almost no one that's honest with themselves. Garbage pick that we will regret for ages. There. That should be enough to make him go for 125 and 2 tds on Sunday. Besides how injury prone Higgins has been, ive pointed out that Wrs coming out of college have become the most impact rookies of any position since proportionally with the change of offensive focus on multiple sets of WRs, more and more are getting so many reps in college, they are coming into the NFL more adapt to be ready year 1. We will find a reasonable replacement for Higgins in draft or in FA for much less and take the difference in $$ and focus on defense RE: Injury updates - Frank Booth - 10-25-2024 (10-25-2024, 06:43 PM)Essex Johnson Wrote: Besides how injury prone Higgins has been, ive pointed out that Wrs coming out of college have become the most impact rookies of any position since proportionally with the change of offensive focus on multiple sets of WRs, more and more are getting so many reps in college, they are coming into the NFL more adapt to be ready year 1. They are back of the roster guys. They are the Jalen Macmillan’s and sterling Shepards of the world (Bucs). Every team in the NFL has burtons, Andre’s and Irwin’s. They should only see the field after enough development or due to injuries. Teams will just double Chase and then our offense is toast since Taylor doesn't know how to scheme passed that if he doesn't have Higgins. Only BTJ and Nabers, are as productive or better than tee over the last three draft classes of day1 and day 2 guys. Puka is the other, but he was such a diamond in the rough. |
