Remember how after Boyd had that late TD catch that knocked the Ravens out of the playoffs they would shadow him with Humphrey the entire game and completely erase him? That's the difference between a true WR1 and a best WR in a bad WR corps WR1. The injury to Marcus Peters has forced him to play on the boundary more. The Ja'Marr Chase Thread - The D.O.Z. - 10-24-2021 Marlon alone didn’t give up THAT many, did he? I recall the game announcers on TV saying that when the Ravens went man, he was gonna be on Chase, yet I saw several plays where Chase was guarded by someone else. DID Marlon really give up all those yards? RE: The Ja'Marr Chase Thread - Rubekahn29 - 10-24-2021 (10-24-2021, 11:12 PM)The D.O.Z. Wrote: Marlon alone didn’t give up THAT many, did he? DID Marlon really give up all those yards? I’m not sure, but he did give up the 55 yarder to CJ as well. Plus the 82 yarder, which alone is 137 yards. RE: The Ja'Marr Chase Thread - wanga - 10-25-2021 Man I will never get sick of watching that 82 yarder. He had a BAD day and thats to our teams credit. RE: The Ja'Marr Chase Thread - TecmoBengals - 10-25-2021 (10-25-2021, 03:36 AM)wanga Wrote: Man I will never get sick of watching that 82 yarder. Two weeks in a row Chase gives us a gem. The block against the Lions and now the Madden, video game like break away 82 yarder against the Ravens. RE: The Ja'Marr Chase Thread - TecmoBengals - 10-25-2021 Alrighty Bengals & Chase fans, I need some parenting advice. After Chase's 82 yarder, my 12 year old son was like, "Burrow and Chase are awesome," BUT, there has to be a BUT, he then says, "Chase will probably get hurt badly in a few games and never be as good again.... that's how it goes for the Bengals." Do I applaud my son living in reality or do I discipline him for cursing Chase and the Bengals? He's got a point, the Bengals first round draft pick in recent years doesn't play a full season. I'm also disappointed his Bengals cynicism is a direct reflection of me. I still think I ground my kid for a few months for putting this on Chase. Right the ravens missing a few starters out there... and that hurts alot when a guy like chase comes to town RE: The Ja'Marr Chase Thread - Forever Spinning Vinyl - 10-25-2021 I've said it before and I hope to keep saying it again . . . the only receiver that he reminds me of is former Raven and Panther legend, Steve Smith And almost all of it is the result of his mental approach. In fact, Steve Smith was the only receiver of his type that I have seen, until Chase. He is hard to cover and has an attack mode that AJ Green never had. He's going to have to adjust to playing a lot more double teams the rest of the season. Time for Boyd, Higgins and Uzomah to focus on picking up more targets to make opponents pay. He was an outside CB his first two years and gave up passer ratings of 53.5 and 76.3 when targeted. He then moved to primarily being a slot the next two years and put up 75.4 and 87.0 passer ratings. RE: The Ja'Marr Chase Thread - PhilHos - 10-25-2021 I think it's fair to say that we're not 5-2 if we drafted Sewell instead of Chase. RE: The Ja'Marr Chase Thread - Housh - 10-25-2021 Here’s a question If we had magic GUARUNTEES that Sewell would grade as the best LT in the league as a rookie and Chase would grade as the number 1 WR who would you have drafted ? The Ravens other corner i think took Chase for a couple snaps but the vast majority of Chase’s game was being covered by Marlon. Marlon has to hold that L RE: The Ja'Marr Chase Thread - Whatever - 10-25-2021 (10-25-2021, 11:43 AM)Housh Wrote: From what i remember Everett played no memorable snaps guarding Chase. Chase is second in the league with 874 adjusted yards and accounts for 51% of the Bengals passing offense with Adams at third with 804 yards and 47% of the Packers passing offense. The difference between all of these guys? Kupp and Adams are doing it with 81 and 73 targets, respectively. Chase is doing it on 51. This was the assumption before the draft, that they would both be transcendent players (perhaps not this quickly) and we picked Chase. An elite WR does more for your offence than one elite OL player. |
