I do think the Bengals day 3 picks this year will be successful though. The didn't take an Andrei Iosivas type this year they took 3 very experienced players but with capped upside. 

2nd..third..fourth round picks make up the majority of NFL rosters..it is what it is

Agreed.

I think Barrett Carter will be a gem.

If Rivers develops, he can start at either G spot. He can back up both spots and RT this year.

Brooks can fill a role like Pacheco with Chiefs. But that depends on whether Peterson can convince Taylor on the power run game.   

BTW, the key to ensuring winning early season games is having a power run game to rely on. As the season moves forward, the QB-WR-TE timing combined with defenses slowing down (by week three or four), you can open up the pass game more.

July 23rd.   If neither the top draft pick or Hendrickson are in camp on Day One.  If front office can't have one of them in camp July 23ed, then Mike Brown and Family are the same losers they have always been.  Bengals will indeed lose to Cleveland to start the season and Bengals will lose most of September as always. Again they will dig a hole and miss play-offs due to not being ready for training camp which leads to not ready in September.  

To those saying neither the top pick or Hendrickson are needed, and you think some second rate players will fill in like superstars, to you I say you are dreaming. If Mike Brown can't get the Top Pick or Hendrickson in Camp on July 23rd, then Mike Brown stinks as always and Bengals are going to lose in 2025.

Deadline is July 23rd. and Bengals front office needs to get with it. As John Wayne said, " They are burning daylight "

Also, what is the point of some on boards already talking 2026 draft, if Mike Brown Family can't sign and get top picks into camp.  What was the point of even drafting him in round one if Mike Brown and Family aren't willing to work out contracts to get top picks into much needed training camp.  This Front Office isn't right, and hasn't been most of the years since Paul Brown died, and why this franchise has so many bad seasons. I'll add the city of Cincinnati and taxpayers should not even consider new stadium things, until Mike Brown and Family stop being so content with going cheap and having losing teams most seasons.

Is Scherff wanting to sign with someone or is he retiring is my only question along with scheme/fit?

I would definitely bring in Risner/Scherff or Hernandez when he is healthy for insurance on the IOL.

But they don't play Defense.  Bengals have had one of the worst defenses in NFL last few seasons and on pace to be even worse if they can't get D players signed and into camp.  Defense holds this team back.  This team can not score enough points to make up for how stinking awful the Bengals defense has been.  Adding blocking will not help this lousy defense one bit.  Defense holds this team back. Defense is the problem.  They better get the top pick or Hendrickson in here, or Cleveland Browns are going to kick Bengal up and down the field and Bengals will start season with loses as they always do.

Most of that was because of coaching in my opinion and the coaches have changed. Lou's Defense last year couldn't tackle worth a shit and 
allowed big play after big play. Good Offensive drives help out a Defense and it keeps them off the field as well. You can improve both the IOL
and the Defense, not one or the other.

It's the problem with missing on a bunch of 1st Round picks. You then have way too many holes to fill in free agency.

I keep beating this drum, but as guys got hurt...the defense got better. Hubbard and some other ones. For some reason, the best guys weren't playing.

Sure doesn't help playing injured Sam that is for sure. You have to put this on coaching again, correct? Also, thought it was a big mistake playing
a washed up Vonn Bell over Jordan Battle. Geno Stone also was bad and I would of replaced him earlier, same with CTB. But I have heard CTB 
saying how much the new coaches have helped him this Offseason. Hoping for a come back year for him.

Guys like Ossai, Dax, DJ Turner, Fig Newton and even Marco Wilson flashed late last year as you say.

As the season went on Lou simplified the defense too.  That probably played a bigger role

I know it's speculation but even if we are just in the bottom 3rd of the league it's ridiculous we didn't do more to address the oline this offseason.

A bad defense and a protected Burrow this team has a chance. If bad protection gets Burrow hurt then it doesnt matter what the defense does our season is done.

That survey was brutal. But I couldn't find out the details of how it was conducted and number of respondents. Do you know?

But in searching for details of the sruvey, I did run across this tibit posted in the x thread:

We did address the OL this offseason ..just maybe not with the players and coaches you wanted..plus our starting LT will be back and Mims will have a year under his belt
