So we don't have 1 million of these popping up.

RE: ***Official Defend Andy Dalton Thread*** - THE PISTONS - 09-10-2017

He was sacked 5 times and hurried more. It's tough to be a good QB in those circumstances.

RE: ***Official Defend Andy Dalton Thread*** - Nately120 - 09-10-2017

Palmer played like shit today.

RE: ***Official Defend Andy Dalton Thread*** - SHRacerX - 09-10-2017

I think at least a good part of the blame has to go to Zampese...what the F*^# kind of game plan was that? Everything a very short drop right behind the line of scrimmage? Were we trying to lead the league in tipped passes? Two led to INTs that ended any hope this team had of scoring.

The one Dalton threw to Lafell in the end zone that got picked off was horrible, as was the overshot of Core on a sure TD.

He is still my QB and I am 100% in his corner, but he sure didn't make it easy on himself today. Lot's of folks will now be calling for AJM.

The guys in your avatar combined for 1 TD, 7 INT's, a pick six, a lost fumble, and passer ratings of 53.2 and 28.4.

Youch.

Difference is Palmer and Arians might make some changes or retire.  Nothing like that going on here.

90% of the team played poorly today, and the coaches sucked.

While Dalton was absolutely terrible, it is only one game. Not saying we should overlook this performance but we should give him more than one game before we write him off...although with this o line I'm not sure it'll matter, especially with Clowney and Watt coming to town

Also I know some people love AJM, and I really like him, but he's not better than Andy. Just sayin

Yep.  Sad

He typically plays good in the regular season.

RE: ***Official Defend Andy Dalton Thread*** - Marlon23 - 09-10-2017

Top.

RE: ***Official Defend Andy Dalton Thread*** - Rattler - 09-10-2017

Fact is...with this shitty line you need a mobile QB who can play on the run, void of a conventional pocket.

Could be why they hold onto Driskel.

It's hard to defend Dalton today

It's also hard to defend the bulk of the decisions, coaching, play calling, and on and on by the Bengals owner, F.O. , and coaching staff for years and years on way to many things.

LETS GO!

(claps hands!)

problem solved

True dat.

How many wanted to punch Marvin in the face for punting down 20 with under 10 to play.

Mind boggling decision which is a good microcosm for today's shit show.

What is there to defend?  He was terrible.....KZ and PA's bunch weren't much better.

RE: ***Official Defend Andy Dalton Thread*** - ochocincos - 09-11-2017

OL was a sieve, giving constant pressure on Dalton. - Strike on OL
RBs didn't have much room to work with, resulting in short rushes and therefore many third-and-longs. - Strike on running game
Receivers outside of AJ Green weren't able to get open in the brief window they had before Dalton was getting pressured. - Strike on receivers
Zampese (or Marvin) schemed to have tight formations rather than spread out the defense like we all hoped/thought would have been the plan. - Strike against offensive game planning.
Dalton continues to perform poorly when not given a clean pocket and lacks pocket presence to feel pressure and respond appropriately. - Strike on Dalton

Strikes all around!

If that's the case, call Tim Tebow or Johnny Manziel! Just kidding....

Here's the thing..

It's been one game. I won't create hyperbole or make sensationalized posts from one game – the season opener at that. You can't conclude much from a single data point; what we can conclude based on Dalton's previous six seasons is that he's a pretty decent QB.

To be continued..

RE: ***Official Defend Andy Dalton Thread*** - GodFather - 09-11-2017

Andy's set a NEW RECORD YESTERDAY!

Since the QBR have started, Andy hit a new low with a .6 QBR.. not a 6 but a .6!!!

This is with a QB throwing 30 or more in a ball game. Congratulations Andy and especially Congrats to Marvin Lewis for keeping him in the game and allowing him to accomplish such an amazing feat!

Im proud of you two...damn proud!
