Just a little torture - fredtoast - 05-15-2018 Hate to bring this up, but just curious. How would you have wanted the draft to go if the McCarron deal had not washed out and we had the third pick in both the second and third round? Can only take players available at each spot 1-21 2-35 2-46 3-67 3-77 3a-100 4-112 5-151 5-158 5-170 Just a little torture - BenZoo2 - 05-15-2018 Probably te at 33, Gesicki or Goedert or guard, Hernandez or Corbett 65, Lorenzo carter Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk RE: Just a little torture - psychdoctor - 05-15-2018 I would probably like Braden Smith OG and Orlando Brown RT RE: Just a little torture - psychdoctor - 05-15-2018 (05-15-2018, 04:50 PM)BenZoo2 Wrote: Probably te at 33, Gesicki or Goedert or guard, Hernandez or Corbett Carter was gone by 67. RE: Just a little torture - Bilbo Saggins - 05-16-2018 CB Josh Jackson and OT Gerron Christian. Two guys who weren't finished products but have a shot at being great. RE: Just a little torture - Go Cards - 05-16-2018 The torturous part is that both players I would have wanted were taken with the second pick in each round. Just one pick before Bengals would have selected in Will Hernandez and Lorenzo Carter. But adhering to rules without trading would select OG Braden Smith and OT Gerron Christian and not be worrying as much about O-line as I am still. RE: Just a little torture - leonardfan40 - 05-16-2018 Harold Landry and Orlando Brown RE: Just a little torture - depthchart - 05-17-2018 (05-15-2018, 03:27 PM)fredtoast Wrote: Hate to bring this up, but just curious. With hindsight, and given my O-line rants, ![]() 2nd round - 35 - Braden Smith GUARD/Tackle Auburn 6 foot 6 315 pounds 3rd round - 67 - Orlando Brown Jr RIGHT TACKLE Oklahoma 6 foot 8 345 pounds * This would bring New faces to compete at every O-line spot except for Clint Boling's Left Guard spot. New faces at or competing at LT - Glenn, C - Price, RG - Braden Smith, RT - Orlando Brown Jr The 4 weak O-line spots we had in 2017 would all have either a new starter (Glenn/Price) -or- have serious competition added. Westerman and Fisher would have to hold off Braden Smith and Orlando Brown Jr both in the short term and over time which may end up being very difficult for them to do. If I had to be further tortured by me not getting "my precious" O-line with either of those picks, I would do the following: 2nd round - 35 - Josh Jackson Corner Iowa (Bengals are due to take a 1st round corner and if Jackson pans out we wouldn't need to in 2019. Also Dennard maybe leaving insurance and loss of Pac Man insurance) 3rd round - 67 - Mason Rudolph QB (Not to take Dalton's job any time soon but to have a solid backup developing who could take over the job someday. Mason would also likely hold trade value similar to McCarron's) RE: Just a little torture - shanebo - 05-17-2018 With the rest of our draft staying the same, I'd probably go Gesicki and Ronnie Harrison. But if I could change some of our draft picks around, Daniels and Reid. RE: Just a little torture - lostpoet2 - 05-17-2018 I would feel much more confident about the 2018 season if we had spent an additional high pick on the o-line. RE: Just a little torture - 3wt - 06-01-2018 35 - Nathan Shepherd 67 - Orlando Brown |
